Nothing makes or breaks a home more than the refined detailing of specialty millwork, whether the details are simple or elaborate. The trend over the last five years has tended toward cleaner lines and flat trims versus traditional trims featuring curved or beaded casings, raised door panels, or elaborate crown moulding.

This trend echoes the simpler architectural lines of the homes featured in the 2022 First Internet Bank Home-A-Rama. If you attended this year’s home show at Chatham Hills, you’ve already seen the quality millwork D&D Mouldings & Millwork has been producing for 33 years. D&D supplied the specialty millwork for the incredible custom homes showcased by Scott Campbell Custom Homes and AR Homes by Christopher Scott.

The home built by AR Homes is modern, while the Scott Campbell home is more of a blend, combining a contemporary style with more traditional features such as three-panel doors.

For both homes, D&D furnished the interior doors – including the barn doors – the interior trim and mouldings, crown mouldings, ceiling beams, door hardware, built-ins, stairs, and fireplace mantels. D&D is truly a total millwork solution.

“Once the drywall and flooring is in, we supply pretty much everything else,” says Michael L. Dilk, president, D&D Mouldings & Millwork.

“No matter what the current trend, we’re capable of making or matching any style you want,” Dilk says.

Why do the top builders in the Indianapolis area opt to work with D&D? It’s simple. For one thing, they get the job done.

“When it gets down to crunch time, you’ve got to deliver,” Dilk says. “For the Home-A-Rama homes, everything got done and delivered in time.” Their outside salesmen, who measure the jobs, pay attention to detail and work closely with carpenters to finish the work with quality and efficiency.

D&D serves the greater metropolitan area of Indianapolis. Ninety percent of D&D’s business is with builders, but homeowners are also welcome. No appointment is necessary, but for large projects, it is advisable.
