If you’ve never attended a Home-A-Rama (HAR), this would be the perfect year to change that streak because the 2022 HAR is extra special. Courtney Albright, Director of Communications and Special Events for Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI), calls this year’s show the “trifecta” because of everything it will offer.
“It’s not that this is a better show than previous years, although we’re always trying to improve and find ways to incorporate new aspects into the show,” says Albright. “But this year we have a rockstar list of builders, a seasoned development group & community, and the City of Westfield, which is booming as people from all over the country are coming to live here.”

The 2022 HAR, whose title sponsor is First Internet Bank, is being hosted for the third and final time at the Chatham Hills neighborhood. The Club at Chatham Hills, a private golf course residential community, offers unique topography of creeks, rolling hills, woods, lakes and two Pete Dye designed golf courses (an Executive 9-Hole Course and a Championship 18-Hole Course). Other amenities include a 65,000 sq. ft. clubhouse that has a four-lane bowling alley, two-story fitness center with a spin studio, tennis facilities, indoor pool, and outdoor pool with cabanas as well as a swim-up bar (the only one in the state).
Westfield, consistently named one of the best and safest places to live in America, has experienced tremendous growth over the past decade. In addition to having beautiful parks and trail systems, the city also houses Grand Park, a 400-acre youth sports campus, that annually draws more than 2 million visitors.
This year’s HAR features six elite homebuilders: AR Homes, BBG Construction, Carrington Homes, Scott Campbell Custom Homes, Sigma Builders, and Wedgewood Building Company.
“The builders will be on hand to answer questions, provide advice or discuss their uniquely built showcase home,” says Albright. “Many of the designers and suppliers will also be on hand to provide information on their products and services.”
In years past, guests may have just come directly to the show and gone home afterwards. This year, however, families may want to consider making a day of it to not only take in the gorgeous homes but also enjoy delicious food, wine, and beer from local distilleries.
The $2-3M homes featured in HAR are between 5,500 sq. ft. and 8,200 sq. ft. Sometimes community members are hesitant to check out a HAR because they assume they wouldn’t be able to afford such luxury. Albright insists that everyone who visits will not only have fun but will go home armed with ample knowledge and fresh ideas for a future build or renovation.

“It’s not just about looking for a potential build but also looking for potential vendors you may want to use, whether that’s design, technology, furniture, or outdoor living,” says Albright.
And while it’s great to flip through a magazine and see pretty pictures, there’s nothing better than having something tangible to look at and feel. Having said that, this year BAGI is again offering the virtual tour experience for those who either can’t make it to the show or want to revisit an element or feature that catches their eye during the on-site tour.
“The virtual tours started during the pandemic but we quickly realized the benefit of it and how it enhanced the Home-A-Rama experience,” says Albright. “We fully anticipate continuing with the hybrid approach because once the show closes, guests have the opportunity to go back and look at the highlights from the day. People can save to their favorites to remember, ‘This is what I want my living room to look like.’”
In addition, this enables HAR guests to ask questions after the show as well as vote for their favorite home!
The HAR preview party will be from 5:30-9 p.m. on September 21. Realtor Day is from 12-3 p.m. on September 23. They are also planning a couple of fun theme nights such as Ladies Night. Show dates are September 22-25, September 29-October 2, and October 6-9.
