We heard from Anne about her start in the industry, and much more. See below! Before you got into real estate, you owned a successful interior design business. Why did you leave that behind to become a REALTOR®? I loved so much about interior design, but I knew it wasn’t something I would want to take into my later years. Despite working with many great clients, I was getting burned out. You know the song, “should I stay or should I go?” Well, I had a good run, but it was time to go. I wanted my spark back. For a while I thought I could do both, but I quickly realized that I wanted to give real estate my full attention. Working in real estate still allows me the pleasure of working with great people who have blessed me by referring me to their friends and family, and that’s kind of like getting the cream of the crop. I get serious buyers and sellers who depend on me to help them through this process and make it as stress free and fun as possible.
What is your approach to selling listings for clients? I tailor my approach to my client’s goals, but I always start marketing from the get go. I announce upcoming listings (as well as my buyer’s needs) in our weekly office meetings. I send new listings to other Coldwell Banker offices before they even hit the MLS, so notification goes from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe Depending on the home, it might be on T.V. or in national publications. It will always be on sites like Zillow, Redfin & Realtor. I use an experienced professional photographer to give my client
their best advantage. I have a complimentary book that I give sellers that shares insider tips to selling their home. I use my background in interior design to advise my clients on how to best prepare their home to be listed. CB has a great program that allows clients to make improvements to their home if needed, and you don’t pay them back until close of escrow. I’ve seen it work beautifully and it allows clients to get more money for their home than they would have without the improvements. The profit outweighs the cost without having to come out of pocket up front. I do as much as possible for the client so they can focus on their careers and personal life, while I do my job as their Realtor®.

How would you describe the current real estate market? We are in a settling period. Home prices will continue to rise, but at a slower rate. Mortgage rates are inching up but they are still at record lows. Some people who fled the cities during the pandemic are returning to live the lifestyle they’ve missed.
