The company’s most challenging project was the renovation and re-design of the town of Lajitas. Yes, the TOWN: a 26,000acre town on the edge of the Rio Grand, was transformed into a playground for the uber-wealthy. We completely re-did the hotel lobby, scores of hotel rooms, restaurants, bars, patios, meeting rooms, and a conference center. Nicknamed “La Hideous” by the design team, the end project was dubbed “Lovely Lajitas” and featured in Architectural Digest. (Our client since divested of the property.)
Through the years, we were awarded FF&E for community centers in many developments. Some of them were small with reception areas and offices. In contrast, the large ones could be quite involved, including libraries, billiard rooms, business centers, theatres, craft rooms, and numerous offices for large management teams. Literally, our projects have ranged from a nine-hundred square foot condo to a thirty-five-thousand-foot clubhouse, including projects of all sizes and budgets in between.
Position by Design, Inc. was incorporated in 1991 as a fullservice design and model home merchandising firm. The firm’s focus originally catered to the needs of builders and developers by creating targeted interior environments for specific buyer profiles. The result is that potential buyers feel at home and are eased more quickly through the buying process---thus enhancing sales.
