Affordable Real Estate Options

Despite being home to many of the state’s largest cities, one of the best aspects of Southeast Michigan is its affordability. Redfin listed Detroit’s median sales price at $71,000 for February 2023, making it one of the most affordable cities in the U.S. Ann Arbor’s market is significantly more expensive, according to Redfin, with a median sales price of $420,000 for February 2023. Yet, this is still substantially lower than many other big cities.

Even outside the two biggest cities in the region, real estate options are still abundant and affordable. Mount Clemens is a major city in Warren County, and according to Redfin, the median sale price is $100,000 for February 2023.

Excellent Outdoor Destinations

Michigan is renowned for its natural beauty, scenic Great Lakes, small mountains, and dense forests. While other regions of the state are better known for their unspoiled natural sites, Southeastern Michigan still has plenty to offer in this department.
