The Honda Classic Returns to Palm Beach in Late February Palm Beach is one of Florida’s most stunning locations. Internationally known as the site of some of America’s most stunning homes, with gigantic mansions and estates home to some of the country’s wealthiest citizens, Palm Beach is a South Florida paradise. It has incredible white sand beaches, boutique shops, and trendy upscale restaurants, but one of the big reasons for its enduring appeal is the topnotch golf courses and country clubs. These are some of the most dazzling in the nation, and while Palm Beach’s residents get to enjoy the courses throughout the year, they also play host to some significant golf events. One of these events is The Honda Classic.
THE HONDA CLASSIC
The Honda Classic is a yearly event on the PGA Tour, typically played in late winter following the tour’s West Coast Swing. This year, The Honda Classic will be played from February 21st to February 27th and will feature many of the most talented
winner will receive $1,444,000, a huge cut of the prize money that ensures the effort of the players present. They will also receive 500 FedEx Cup Points. The event also has a great cause behind it. While the tournament makes for an exciting show and is one of the best events on the PGA Tour, the true mission of The Honda Classic is to give back to the community. The Honda Classic has taken place since 2007 at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. This is a famed spot that has played host to tournaments from the Ryder Cup to the PGA Championship and is now the present and future of The Honda Classic. The resort is a massive compound with five championship 18-hole golf courses, including The Champion, the most famous of them all, and the course where The Honda Classic is held. The Champion was designed by George and Tom Fazio and redesigned by Jack Nicklaus. The resort also includes nine restaurants and lounges, a 40,000-square-foot spa, a 33,000-square foot health center, and 19 tennis courts.
