Wisconsin’s Midwestern location makes it a naturally beautiful state bordering two Great Lakes, with plenty of other bodies of water within the state. Eagle River

If you want to explore one of the cities that best embody Wisconsin’s natural beauty, Eagle River could be the best place to go. This city is a popular vacation destination because of the stunning scenery it offers visitors, made all the more spectacular with bright autumn foliage coloring it a red, orange, and brown hue.

Eagle River is on the world’s largest freshwater chain of lakes and is surrounded by dense forests with walkable trails. Cranberries are abundant in the region in autumn, and Eagle River provides residents with topquality locally grown food options. Appleton

Appleton is a busy mid-sized city home to roughly 75,000 residents. Situated just north of Lake Winnebago, this city has so much to see throughout the year. It is known for its family-friendly museums, which can be enjoyed all year-round. Appleton in the fall is scenic, with tons of exciting fall activities that can be enjoyed with the whole family.

Appleton has a local farmers’ market that is open every week during the fall that displays the fruits of the season’s harvest. Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva is a small city on the lake it is named for.

This city is often busiest in the summer when many tourists head over to enjoy its deep blue waters and local beaches. However, fishing, boating, and swimming are only part of what Lake Geneva offers, and exploring this city in the fall makes for an excellent experience.

Those who visit Lake Geneva in the autumn can see one of the most spectacular leaf transformations in the country. The many trees that line the water burst with color, making Lake Geneva all the more scenic. This is an ideal time for hiking or biking along the shore, taking a boat cruise, or golfing at the many courses in the area.

Egg Harbor

Egg Harbor is a peaceful town on Green Bay. This little city has a lot to offer and is a popular spot for visitors due to its azure waters, excellent golf courses, and summer beaches. While summer brings the most visitors, Egg Harbor is also a destination in the fall, where it remains just as scenic.

There’s tons to do in Egg Harbor in autumn. Tour a pumpkin patch to find that perfect pumpkin, head to a farmers’ market to try local classics or stroll through a quaint downtown with artisan shops and cozy restaurants. It is a charming and naturally beautiful town made even prettier in the fall.
