PROFESSIONAL ADVISING
Advising focuses on professional development, communicating in professional settings, and building your confidence in networking and developing relationships, especially with Haverford’s dedicated and accomplished alumni and potential mentors. You will be guided to recognize and articulate the excellent analytical and communication skills, specialized knowledge, and remarkable leadership experience you’ll develop at Haverford. The CCPA works with employers, maintains job boards, and hosts recruiting days, job fairs, and other events that help you connect with professionals in your desired fields. The CCPA assists you with finding and securing internships, externships, and post-graduate jobs and opportunities.

Get help navigating the application process for graduate and other professional schools. If you are interested in pursuing Ph.D. programs, you’ll receive guidance from Haverford faculty in your selected discipline. Haverford has a dedicated pre-health advisor as well as a pre-law advisor; both housed at the CCPA. NETWORKING
The CCPA hosts and participates in many networking events throughout the year and provides guidance to help you successfully utilize the many resources available.

Post-grad plans: Culp has traveled to Almaty, Kazakhstan, on a Boren Scholarship to take classes in Russian at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for a full year. The Boren Scholarship is a grant, supplied by the U.S. government, that enables a student’s deeper learning of a language that is deemed pertinent to the Department of Defense. After an extended period of linguistic immersion abroad, the student receives a post in the federal government.
Post-grad plans: Zegeye is pursuing a Ph.D. in astrophysics at the University of Chicago He is studying the early history of the universe through an examination of the phenomenon known as the Cosmic Microwave Background.
Post-grad plans: Perez has taken a position as a Baseball Operations Trainee for the Cincinatti Reds Major League Baseball team.
Bona fides: Culp spent a semester abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia. In preparation for her future in government service she interned last summer in Kyiv, Ukraine with the Department of State’s Office of U.N. Political Affairs.
Bona fides: While at Haverford, Zegeye studied abroad at University College London. He also worked as a Research Collaborator at the HarvardSmithsonian Center for Astrophysics. His research at Haverford included work as a Summer Scholar funded by the Marian E. Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center studying the evolution of galaxies.
Bona fides: During the summer before senior year, Perez interned with the New York Yankees and following graduation spent five months interning with the Chicago White Sox player development department. He played baseball for three years with Haverford after transferring from Rutgers after his first year. Perez wrote his senior thesis on the impact of the movement of superstar athletes between teams in the MLB and NBA on the amenity levels of local economies.
