Composting Webinar Wednesday, October 13 (7pm)

Learn how to compost food waste in your backyard! We’ve invited a local compost entrepreneur, Gwenn Nolan of Mother Compost, to share her knowledge and passion with us. If you want to learn more about wasting less, fighting climate change, and making free organic fertilizer then this is the presentation for you! If you are a Haverford Township resident you will be eligible to purchase a compost bin for $25 (while supplies last).

Free event - must preregister.

Recycling-What to put in the blue bin Wednesday, October 6 (7-8:30pm)

EAC members will inform you what does and does not go in your blue bin, what steps are necessary to sort and clean, and where to locally recycle items that are not accepted in your blue bin, including our newest recycling initiative through Terracycle and the Peace Advocacy Network. Location: CREC - Environmental Lab

Free event. Please register. Owl Prowl Friday, November 19 (7:30-9pm)

Join us and learn about PA’s owls during an exciting program by avian educators from India Run Environmental Education Center. We will meet live, non-releasable owls and discover their unique adaptations for survival. We will then take a guided walk through Haverford Reserve to search for Screech and Great Horned Owls. Appropriate for guests ages 6 to adult. Flashlights and appropriate footwear for trail hiking are recommended. Fee: $15 adults/$10 under 16 years old Limited Space. Location: CREC - Environmental Lab Rain Date: November 20 (7:30-9pm)

Year-round Habitat for Pollinators Saturday, October 16 (2pm)

Bring your landscape to life by learning how to support the full life cycle of nature’s workhorses in your space! Steward your landscape in all seasons for butterflies and native bees by providing food, safe nesting sites, and places to overwinter. Learn about the highest value plants for supporting adult pollinators as well as the caterpillar stages of butterflies and moths - essential food for reproducing song birds. Location: CREC - Environmental Lab Fee: $5
