Dear Resident, Reference: Mawney Close Semi-Independent Accommodation I am writing to let you know that the London Borough of Havering have now been granted planning permission to begin works on the new Social Care Service at Mawney Close, Romford, RM7 8EJ. This service will provide residential accommodation for care experienced young adults who need further support to help them prepare for independent living. There will be a

dedicated manager and staff available as part of the service to ensure that young people have continuous access to the guidance, support and advice they require.

This accommodation will help London Borough of Havering to keep our young people close to existing support networks and avoid the need for out of borough placements. The scheme provides a vital opportunity for the young residents to live independently, while at the same time, in a supported environment.
