Mischief Makers, the Summer Reading Challenge 2018, is inspired by the much-loved children’s title Beano, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary. The Summer Reading Challenge will take place in all Havering libraries during the summer Ages holidays. Children read six library books of their choice and receive a gold medal and 4-11 certificate on completion. Please ask your local library branch for more details. Starts SAT 14 JULY

Children will also explore a map of Beanotown to find the mysterious buried treasure and become ultimate mischief makers. Dennis, Gnasher and friends will help them solve clues and collect stickers, having lots of fun and adventures along the way.

Run by Havering Youth Service, it’s a great way to make that transition, featuring team games, sports on the outdoor ball court, cooking, problem-solving activities, indoor games, music and much more.
