LOCAL RESIDENT LETTER
NOVEMBER 2022
Thanks to all of you that were able to attend the meeting on Tuesday 1 November at the Salvation Army, Romford. The meeting gave an update on progress and, as always, provided an opportunity to raise any questions or concerns to the joint venture team from Havering Council and Wates Residential. Below is a summary of the questions raised and the actions taken. Residents said

CCTV 'dummy' cameras facing the road
Sean Cushing explained that they cannot face the road but will organise an assessment to check them
Paul Dwyer also looking at asking ward councillors and the Police to attend the next meeting
Reports of homeless people sleeping by the church
Paul Dwyer has informed the homeless team and asked for the estate to be included in the next count of rough sleepers.
Paul Dwyer also spoke to the security team and asked for this to be added to their daily checks
Complaints of fly tipping near ivy hoarding
Sean to check this and the sensors on the site
Residents can report flytipping direct to: www.havering.gov.uk/flytipping
Parking
Paul to invite someone from the parking/highways team to the next meeting
Road safety
Sean will talk to Highways TfL about road safety and the possible bus lane suspension during construction

Question about Cotleigh road being done as part of stage two of the scheme
Some residents asked if the development of the rear of Cotleigh Road can be brought forward. Paul Walker has agreed to review this request.
Community Garden security
To be discussed at next Community Garden meeting. It was agreed with residents for the hoarding to remain in place.
Stock condition on all Cotleigh Road properties
Michael Rourke confirmed that Havering Council would undertake stock condition surveys on all properties before main contract works start.
Selling properties
Paul Dwyer advised that anyone looking to sell their homes to the Council should contact him so he can pass it on to the Home Ownership Team
Question about levels of communication
Most residents appear to be happy with the information but if we can improve in any way, just let us know!
Next meetings
To be confirmed but next community garden meeting will be in February and March 2023 for the next resident meeting
