01 ASEAN Youth Social Journalism Contest Organised by


The ASEAN Youth Social Journalism Contest (AYSJ) with ASEAN Secretariat, Irish Embassy, and ASEAN-USAID PROSPECT, is a joint project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and U.S. State Department.

Eligibility Existing or aspiring social journalist that holds an ASEAN Member States passport and resides in the country of citizenship

Must form a team of two from the same nationalities. The applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age. Selected nalists must have active Facebook and Gmail accounts for ease of communication with the trainer and other participants.

Submission requirements Write a TEAM’s essay (max 500 words) and its summary inclusive of the campaign ideas (max 300 words) on the selected theme, explaining the theme, why it is important for youth in ASEAN, how it is relevant in your own life. The summary must answer the following enquiries: What is the problem you are trying to solve with your campaign

What evidence do you have that there is a problem

What is your target audience

What quali es you to be listened to by the target audience

How will your campaign contribute to solving the problem

What will be the expected tangible results of the campaign?

02 CMO Think and Action Organised by


CMO Think and Action is a student-run competition organised by MARGROUP - a group of Marketing researching students from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

Competition structure Late May - Early June: 1st round (Research & Initiative)

Mid June - Late June: 2nd round (Battle Day)

Late June: Training workshops

Late June - Early July: Final round (Practical Product & Pitching)

Eligibility Team of 3.

18-23 year-old students or working professional with less than 1 year of experience (must be Vietnamese passport holder).

Contestants of previous seasons, members of the Organising Committee or students of MARGROUP are not allowed to enter.

03 D&AD New Blood Awards Organised by


New Blood Awards is open to advertising, design, digital and marketing students, recent graduates and emerging creatives worldwide.

Competition structure Mid Oct: Briefs announced

Mid March of the following year: Entry deadline

Late May: Winners announced

Summer: Ceremony

Eligibility New and emerging creatives aged 18 or over without signi cant experience in a paid creative role (< 1 year of experience).

Submission requirements Each brief has di erent submission requirements. They will be a combination of the following: video, JPEG, interactive and PDF.

Participants can respond to as many briefs as they like. They can also submit more than one response per brief.

04 Marketing Arena

Organised by


Marketing Arena is a competition for all students interested in Marketing, organised by Foreign Trade University, Creatio Club and Vietnamese Students' Association.

Competition structure Mid May - Early June: Round 1 (Kick-start) & Information Day & Top 20 announced

Early June - Mid June: Round 2 (Speed up) & Top 4 announced

Mid June - End of June: Round 3 (Top o ) & Mentoring

Late June: Gala Night

Eligibility Team of 3 Vietnamese students (must be Vietnamese passport holders).

18-24 year-old full-time students at an accredited college/university, not yet graduated or have graduated university within 6 months.

Individual candidates will be assigned in a team by the organising committee.

20 rst registered teams can choose their brief. Other teams must follow the brief assigned by the organising committee.

05 Marketing On Air

Organised by


Marketing On Air is a Marketing competition organised by NEU Marketing MGC Club with 4 complete seasons so far.

Competition structure Mid Sept - Early Oct: Round 1 (Research, insight & big idea)

Mid Oct - Late Oct: Round 2 (IMC plan)

Late Oct - Early Nov: Round 3 (Gami cation)

End of Nov: Finale

Eligibility Team of 3 Vietnamese students (must be Vietnamese passport holders).

18-23 year-old full-time students at an accredited college/university, not yet graduated or have graduated university within 1 year.

Previous winners are not allowed to enter.

Submission requirements Presentation slides (max 20 slides, excluding titles, thank-you and appendices) (<10mb).

Appendices are given max 3 slides.

06 Nielsen Case Competition Organised by


Nielsen Case Competition (NCC) is the rst annual solving realistic business circumstances competition for students organised by Nielsen Vietnam.

Competition structure Early Oct: 1st round (48 hours to solve)

Mid/Late Oct: Semi- nal round (48 hours to solve)

Late Oct: Final round (30 hours to solve)

Eligibility Team of 4 students from any university who meet the following criteria: GPA above 6.5/10

3rd year / 4th year students

TOEIC 700+ or IELTS 6.0+ (no band below 6.0) or University English score 7+/10 (preferred)

Experience in social activities (preferred)

The Valiant Marketer (Bản lĩnh Marketer) is the best Marketing competition hosted by university students, with 9 seasons so far.

08 Vietnam Young Lions

Organised by


Vietnam Young Lions is the biggest and most prestigious national competition in the eld of marketing and communication. They search for the best young professionals under 30 to represent Vietnam in the Young Lions competitions in Cannes, France and for The Young Spikes competitions in Singapore.

Eligibility Team of 2 Vietnamese students (must be Vietnamese passport holders).

32 years old or younger as of time of application receipt.

Current full-time students at an accredited college/university, not yet graduated, not yet exposed to the industry.

Previous gold-winning teams are not allowed to enter.

Conditions of entry Entry must fall under one of the following categories: Marketers, Digital, Film & Integrated, and PR.

Young Marketers Annual Contest targets students and entry level jobbers from 18 to 25 to nd out the right candidates (10-15 students per year) for Young Marketers Elite Development Program.

Mid Nov - Mid Dec: Finale

Eligibility 18-27 year-old marketer (must be Vietnamese passport holder).

Contestants of previous seasons and previous Young Marketers Elite Development students are not allowed to enter.

Submission requirements Contestants are free to choose how to present their submissions (PDF, video, image, etc.)

Eligibility University students from all over the world including students on a leave of absence, graduated students except Ph.D, students of advertising, marketing, design, communications, art direction or a related degree.

Participants may compete as an individual or a team of up to 04 people.

Conditions of entry Entry must fall under one of the following categories: Film, Print, Outdoor, Online, Creative Solution, Planning Paper.

Submission requirements Film category: Video (1280*720, max 2 minutes) OR storyboard (< 15 cuts, PDF le)

The hardest thing would be to wrap up your work and hit the submit button. It might be frustrating, you might feel like you haven't tried your best, you feel like going to the battle unarmed and the others would beat you up, you wish there was more time to polish your work, etc. But I came to realize later on that we were given only 48 hours to pull a presentation with excellent insight, excellent execution and beautiful slides. Very demanding, indeed.

Everyone has the same problem you do, there is a limit to 48-hour works so I think it's okay to have some aws here and there, just try to focus on things that matter "
