Welcome
MEET HAWK
Director of Ski Patrol, zipline, and fly-fishing adventures
at Angel Fire Resort, Hawk is the consummate mountain man. Except for a brief stint in Belize, he has never lived below 8,500 feet, and for years spent over 300 days a year on snow. Born in Transylvania, he grew up with no TV, no computer, no video games – the mountains were his playground. His hobbies of skiing, climbing, fishing, and guiding turned into a passion, and then a profession. “I love the beauty of the Moreno Valley, the different cultures, history, and diversity of people here,” he said. His avalanche rescue dog, Shadow, a mascot of sorts at the Resort, loves alpine living as well. He

MEET NANCY
Longtime local (here since the 1970s) Nancy Burch is a
long way from her roots—Long Island, New York—not just in terms of land, but in spirit as well. For years, she has been living the life of a cowgirl, operating Roadrunner Tours with guided horse rides, sleigh rides, outfitting, and more. She loves hanging out in the mountains and sharing her local knowledge with all the friendly folks – locals and visitors alike – on favorite alpine trails. She has a menagerie of animals from alpacas to orphan dogs. Nancy’s known for her laid-back nature, friendly smile, and willingness to help. In fact, when we met with her, she was bolting out the door in a flurry to help an elderly friend in need.
