LI F E ST YLE It takes a village to raise a child and Angel Fire is an ideal place to raise a family. Some of our families have been here for generations while others have come from around the world. While there’s always plenty to do, plenty of places to explore, it’s also a peaceful, quiet place to hang your hat. With nature surrounding you, it’s easy to leave the stress of the city behind and just soak up the scenery. ED U CAT I O N The valley is known for providing top-notch education. Our elementary and middle school is one of New Mexico’s most innovative, and Moreno Valley High School consistently ranks as one of the nation’s top charter schools, with a college-bound focus and curriculum. A new $4 million facility will greet high school students this year, adding over 12,000 square feet and 11 classrooms. And kids love the four-day school week.

it takes a village After learning of their son David’s death in Vietnam, the Dr. Victor Westphall family founded the Vietnam Veterans Peace and Brotherhood Chapel on a hill looking south to Angel Fire. It became the nation’s first Vietnam Memorial. Today, a state park with free admission, it has a national reputation as an invaluable site for veterans of all wars and their families. Photographs, banners, video and soldier artifacts fill the 6,000 square foot center. Outside is a Huey helicopter. Guided tours available. Visitor Center open 9-5 daily. Limited winter hours. FIBER OPTICS Faster internet is now here with Kit Carson Telecom’s completion of a multi-million dollar broadband fiber optic project. The new Angel Fire I-Hub will be used to attract and promote technology companies and give visitors and entrepreneurs the ability to tele-commute with high speed internet connectivity. SHUTER LIBRARY One of the highest performing libraries of its size in the nation, our library serves over 20,000 visitors per year with a collection of over 10,000 books, programs and free, fast public wi-fi. AIRPORT Perched at the north end of town, the Colfax County Airport at Angel Fire is the fourth highest in the nation at 8,382 feet. The 8,900 ft. runway can handle twin engine planes as well as corporate jets. Charter Fleet International now offers charter flights from Dallas. Airport: (575) 643-8066
