OTHER EVENTS Craft Fair and Festival Café

This year our hub on Saturday is at Todmorden College on Burnley Road. This will house the ticket office from 10am until 5pm alongside Concerts, Craft Fair and a Café. This is the perfect place to arrange to meet friends and entry to everything apart from the afternoon concert is FREE. The Craft Fair is a showcase for many talented local craft businesses and is the perfect place to browse and pick up presents or even treat yourself! In between all this activity you can relax with a cuppa and a cake in our Festival café, or buy a brew to take outside with you to watch the dancers. This year, back by popular demand, we have our specially commissioned Scrumpy Cider Sausage from Nick Fielden, Family Butchers on the indoor market – so our menu will feature sausage baps, sausage and mash and our homemade vegan sausages as well as our regular soups, ploughman’s platters featuring local Pextenement cheeses, festival wraps, pies and other delights not to mention the mountain of cake!

Folk Customs of the Borderlands

Roger Kennington (dancer, singer and folklore enthusiast) and Peter Brears (historian, broadcaster and award-winning author) have been exploring the customs of Calderdale and around. This is what they found. They will be joined by Oakenhoof, so expect dancing, singing, stories and snacks.
