He began his design career working with the notable Atlanta designer Stephen Fuller, where he expanded his knowledge and skill in the residential design field. Jack later was given the opportunity to initiate a new design division for what is now the Nashville-based Southern Land Company. Jack chose to expand his design opportunities by opening his own residential design company in 2002; this year marks the 20th anniversary of Jack Herr Design Associates, Inc. His home designs have been featured in Southern Living, Better Homes and Gardens, and in many Parade of Homes throughout the years. His Parade of Home designs have been acknowledged with a variety of awards, including People’s Choice, Best of Show, Best Exterior Elevation, and Best Interior Design. He is proud to have been a local charity designer for projects for both the Symphony Show House and Ronald McDonald Show House. Jack’s unique ability to design homes in a way that not only meets the desires of his clients but also enhances the home’s livability and aesthetic value is what has largely led to his success in this industry. Today, Jack Herr Design homes can be frequently seen throughout some of Tennessee’s finest and most elite communities.

ABOUT THE SCHUMACHER HOMES PARADE HOUSE DESIGN . . .

“An elegant symmetry exists in the exterior finishes and massing of this EnglishManor house, from the window and door combinations to the parapet dormers and the balanced chimneys. Each creating a welcoming facade for the K.S. Home Builders Parade Home. Entering from the front courtyard through the tail iron doors, the entry foyer leads past well detailed dining and library space into vaulted living spaces open to the rear porches through spacious glass. The adjacent kitchen area is highlighted by an open bar and a temp controlled wine room. Everything is finished in a creative combination of natural materials present in the wide plank wood floors, ceiling beams and fireplace stone, and more transitional finishes of the black and white cabinetry, appliances, and miscellaneous fixtures. Two distinct entertaining destinations exist in the home, the main floor media with hip vaulted ceiling and beams, and the upper floor bonus room, with a main sitting area, bar and game alcove. One of the more dramatic features in the house are the use of tall wood/iron doors to compliment the tail ceilings used both interiorly and around the exterior of the home, resulting in a vast amount of light into the house and creating a feeling of openness. Other features include an open, well detailed main bath/closet layout, complimenting the bedroom suite which features a masonry fireplace, vaulted ceiling, and separate sitting area. This combination of open space, abundant light and quality finish creates a luxurious living environment.” -
