• Each registered builder must submit favorable references from previous customers, suppliers and at least one financial institution.

• Have a registered builder sponsor with personal knowledge of the applicant’s construction activity and business integrity.

• Must appear before the registered builder committee for an interview.

• Must agree to participate in a minimum of six hours of annual continuing education. Two of these hours must be completed in safety training for the construction industry.

• Must agree to a code of ethics indicating compliance with minimum standard requirements.

• Must present proof of Kentucky Worker’s Compensation insurance and a minimum of $250,000 in liability insurance upon application for the professional designation.

• Must agree to a conciliation process and/or binding arbitration in the event of an unresolved complaint from a customer.

• Must be a member in good standing with the Home Builders Association of Northern Kentucky.
