All products and services purchased by members through the NAHB Member Savings programs offer monetary support to your HBA. Last year, NAHB gave more than $700,000 to HBAs as a result of member participation in these programs.
Education
NAHB members get special rates on a vast number of virtual educational programs and resources. Webinars are available live and through on-demand replay. Most webinars are less than $30 for NAHB members. These shorter videos cover a wide range of topics, from general education to niche markets. Learn more about business strategies, building codes, adversity in the workplace, sales and much more. Go to tinyurl.com/nahbwebinars for the full catalog of content. Live online classes through NAHB are offered in webinar format over two or three consecutive weeks. You must attend live to participate in the course and obtain any continuing education credits. Classes are usually held Tuesdays or Thursdays. Please note all course times are posted in Eastern Time Zone. The list of upcoming live online courses can be found at elearning.nahb.org/liveonline-courses. NAHB membership provides a savings of $50-100 on these courses.
My company is a KCHBA member. Do I belong to NAHB?
KCHBA primaries and affiliates are NAHB members. If your company is a KCHBA member, you can apply to become an affiliate. Annual affiliate dues are $50 and the application can be found at members.kchba.org/application. Contact Dawn@kchba. org or call the KCHBA at 816.942.8800 with questions about membership.
How to Login or Register Your NAHB.org Account
Before you can save, you need to access your online NAHB account. 1. Go to NAHB.org. 2. On a desktop there will be a “Login” link on the top right. On mobile it can be found under “MENU”. 3. Login if able. If not, click “Register”. 4. Fill in the following fields. If you do not know your PIN number, contact the NAHB Helpdesk at nahbsupport @nahb.org. 5. You now have access to your individual NAHB profile page.

The Passing of Phil Acuff
It is with great sadness the KCHBA announces the death of Phil Acuff. Phil died on July 9 at his home in Overland Park, Kan. at the age of 91. Phil was involved in residential real estate sales in Johnson County, Kan., before he started Acuff Homes, Inc. in 1961. Later that year his brother, John W. Acuff, joined him in the business. His brother-in-law, Dusty Rhodes, entered the building business and in 1966 they formed Acuff & Rhodes, a major subdivision development company. The companies of Acuff Homes, Dusty Rhodes Homes and Acuff & Rhodes built thousands of homes and developed numerous subdivisions in Kansas and Missouri, which included swimming pools, green spaces and walking trails for their residents.
Phil was KCHBA President in 1984 and named KCHBA’s “Outstanding Builder” in 1987. In 1989 Acuff & Rhodes was included in Magazine’s list of “Giant 400 U.S. Building Companies.” During his building career Phil was also a director at the National Association of Homebuilders. Phil, John and Dusty enjoyed their partnership for over 50 years and were proud that the family tradition of homebuilding has continued on for the next two generations. He also enjoyed being partners with his niece and nephews, Lindy Rhodes, Collin Acuff and Richard “Rocky” Rhodes. After a long and rewarding career, Phil retired in 2013.
