Who’s Leading Your KCHBA in 2022?

If your new year’s resolution is to grow your business, increase your network, and/or be more aware and involved in the home-building industry, the KCHBA is the place for you. Here’s a quick list of each of the KCHBA’s committees and councils, who is leading them in 2022 and their goals for the year.

Artisan Committee

• Chair: Scott Bickford, Bickford & Co. • KCHBA Staff Liaison: Kelcee Allen, kelcee@kchba.org

The 2022 Artisan Home Tour showcases the KCHBA’s custom home builders and it is a ticketed event that supports a charity. The goal for the 2022 Artisan tour is to promote our custom builders to consumers as well as support JDRF in its efforts to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.

“We are excited to support JDRF for the 2022 Artisan Tour,” said Scott Bickford, chair of the 2022 Artisan Home Tour Committee. “People with T1D are some of the most vulnerable during the Covid-19 pandemic so we are thrilled to be able to support research to find a cure through this tour.”

Associates Council

• Chair: Misty Hanson, Stewart Title • KCHBA Staff Liaison: Dawn Allen, dawn@kchba.org

The Associates Council hosts the golf tournament and clay shoot every year. This group is looking for new ways to promote interaction among the KCHBA membership in 2022.

The Spring Parade is just a few months away! The Parade Committee is hard at work looking for ways to improve the Parade experience and expand its offerings.

“It is a good feeling to be a part of the committee that makes the decisions for our Parade of Homes, which is the biggest event the KCHBA puts on each Spring and Fall,” said Justin Pfeifer.

“I would strongly encourage anyone that is looking to get on a committee to come to one of our monthly meetings and see what they think.”

One of the Parade Committee’s main goals for 2022 is to keep expanding the parade app features and other opportunities the KCHBA has with it, according to Pfeifer.

We want our meetings to be F.U.N. Friendly. Unpressured. Non-conventional.” In 2022, one of the YP’s goals is to listen, according to Power. Listen to the associates, listen to the builders, listen to what we can do to make their lives easier. What would make it easier for them to attend more of the events? Would one-on-one time, or smaller group settings, make people feel more comfortable?
