Who’s Leading Your KCHBA in 2023?
If your new year’s resolution is to grow your business, increase your network, and/or be more aware and involved in the homebuilding industry, the KCHBA is the place for you. Here’s a quick list of each of the KCHBA’s committees and councils.
Artisan Committee
Chair: Scott Bickford, Bickford & Co.

The 2024 Artisan Home Tour will showcase the KCHBA’s custom home builders and it is a ticketed event that supports a charity. The goal for the 2024 Artisan tour is to promote our custom builders to consumers as well as support the KC community through a charitable partner.
Associates Council
Chair: Misty Hanson, Stewart Title

The Associates Council will meet the second Wednesday of every month from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the KCHBA unless otherwise communicated. Associates Council plans many of the networking events throughout the year and gives associates the opportunity to network with builder members and other members.
Builders Council

The Builders Committee provides an opportunity for builder members to learn best practices and exchange ideas to meet the housing needs of the Kansas City metro.
Foundation Committee

The Home Builders Charitable Foundation is the charitable arm of the KCHBA. Its goal is to raise more money to support local nonprofits that are building foundations for the future.

The KCHBA’s Political Action Committee, HBA PAC, enables members to strengthen their civic involvement by helping to elect pro-housing candidates at the local and state level.

Parade of Homes Committee

The Spring Parade is just a few months away! The Parade Committee is hard at work looking for ways to improve the Parade experience and expand its offerings. One of the Parade Committee’s main goals for 2023 is to keep expanding the Parade app features, including adding the award winners within the app.
Professional Women in Building Committee

De La Isla’s goals for the PWB in 2023 are to focus on the educational events as well as working in conjunction with the Workforce Development Committee to show the next generation how important and special the home building industry truly is.
Workforce Development Committee

The Workforce Committee focuses on promoting careers in construction to area students. Look for the KC MADE competition in April, scholarship opportunities and more in 2023.
Young Professionals Committee

Whether it be through higher attendance at functions, or an increase in new membership applications, the YPs are going to be focused on new member growth in 2023. They also plan to focus on mentorship and providing opportunities for young industry professionals to expand their skills as leaders through education.
