live the music 2012/13 SEASON
HarrisburgSymphony.org
Welcome to the HSO’s 2012/13 season! The HSO musicians and I look forward to re-creating the special magic that defines each and every Harrisburg Symphony concert. On the Masterworks Series we will offer a wide range of symphonic works by some of Classical music’s greatest composers, including Schumann, Shostakovich, Nielsen, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mahler and Beethoven. We will also venture into the world of concert opera with two performances of Verdi’s great masterpiece, La Traviata. Soloists include some of the finest artists appearing before the public today. On the Capital BlueCross Pops Series, a stellar season will include a multimedia concert devoted to the music of George Gershwin, HSO debut performances by the renowned Canadian Brass and the immensely popular Cirque de la Symphonie show, as well as an evening of memorable sci-fi movie music. Our Mistletoe Magic concerts return in December with a variety of holiday favorites and I always look forward to the annual Stuart and Friends concert in late February. There are also some very special “must attend” social events planned to open the season in October and again in May. All the details are right here. Please peruse our 2012/13 season brochure and join us at the Forum as we “Live the Music!”
