Antonio Vivaldi was a virtuoso violinist, composer, and teacher. A Venetian all his life, he traveled widely but always returned to his beloved native city. His music epitomizes the Italian Baroque like no other composer. We invite you to travel in June 2013 with the Harrisburg Symphony and Travel Professionals Inc. to Vivaldi’s Venice, where you’ll enjoy deluxe accommodations in Vivaldi’s home, now transformed into a modern, upscale hotel known as Locanda Vivaldi, in the heart of the city. Join Maestro Stuart Malina and his wife, Marty, as they take in the inimitable sights, sounds and tastes of Italy.

Venice is one of Europe’s top travel cities, a beautiful, romantic destination with many attractions. It is one of the most alluring cities in the world, renowned for its stunning architecture, its mysterious passageways, and of course, the canals. Its narrow, traffic-free streets along the winding canals make for great walking. It is the type of place where, as a visitor, you’ll welcome getting lost (as you inevitably will). Relax in the Piazza San Marco, take a moonlit gondola ride or taste the original Bellini cocktail at Harry’s Bar. Or just wander. No matter where you go, you’ll find history, beauty and romance.

Venice, the world’s only truly pedestrian city, is easily walkable, and the absence of cars makes walking a particularly pleasant experience.

Inevitably, though, you’ll want to do as all visitors to Venice do: take a leisurely ride along the canals in a gondola. If you want to get around a bit more quickly, there are numerous vaporetti (water buses) and water taxis.

Venice is not big, and you can walk from one end to the other in a matter of hours (if you stick to the paths conveniently marked with arrows in the direction of major landmarks). Along the way you will discover marvelous art, superb architecture and breathtaking urban landscaping. The city is a feast for the eyes.

Your Venetian experience will encompass comprehensive sightseeing (with English speaking guide) to include a walking tour of Venice, St. Mark’s Square, the Basilica of San Marco, Doge’s Palace and the Rialto Bridge.

You will journey to nearby Verona for a walking tour of that city’s major Renaissance piazzas and monuments, including the famous Romeo & Juliet balcony.

The hotel Locanda Vivaldi is a small, regal, townhouse hotel, completely renovated yet maintaining its charm and its many antique features.

DEPOSITS & FINAL PAYMENT: Register by completing the official application and forwarding with your deposit in the amount of $350 per person (non-refundable). Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Final payment will be due no later than February 18, 2013. The rates in this brochure are subject to company tariffs governing the various means of conveyance and currency rates that are in effect at the time of printing of the proposal and are therefore subject to change without notice. AIRLINE: The services of any IATA carrier may be used in conjunction with this air tour.

DONATION: Please note a portion of the cost of the trip includes a donation to the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra.

INSURANCE: An all-inclusive “Vacation Insurance Plan” is available on an optional basis. This specially designed program provides coverage related to accidental death, loss or damage to baggage, medical expenses and flight fare including the nonrefundable charge for cancellations due to illness requiring medical care. Please request this information at time of booking.

In the event the tour is canceled by TPI. TPI shall have no responsibility beyond the refund of all monies paid by the purchaser/participant to TPI. In the event it becomes necessary or advisable for the safety, health, comfort and/or well being of the passenger to reasonably alter the itinerary of this tour, including the airline and type of equipment, accommodation and/or service utilized. TPI reserves the right to do so at its sole discretion and with notice to be provided as soon as possible.

Submission of this reservation coupon shall constitute acceptance by the purchaser/ participant of the conditions herein.

CANCELLATIONS: All cancellations MUST be in writing and mailed to Travel Professionals, Inc. Cancellations received 90 days or more prior to departure will be charged the deposit of $350.00 per person. Cancellations received 89 - 50 days prior to departure will be charged a cancellation fee of 40% of the total trip cost. Cancellations received 49 - 15 days prior to departure will be charged a cancellation fee of 65% of total trip cost. Cancellations received 14 days prior to day of departure and for no shows, no refund will be made.
