Biography for State Representative Thomas Albert

PROFESSIONAL State Representative Thomas Albert was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2016. He represents the 86th District.

Upon graduation from the University of Michigan, Thomas was commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer. He spent the next year attending training schools in order to enter the operational forces. In 2009, Thomas deployed to Iraq as an advisor to the Iraqi Army in the Anbar Province. After leaving active duty, he continued to serve as a reservist until 2013. After completing his MBA in 2013, Thomas worked as an investor for the State of Michigan Retirement Systems.

EDUCATION Thomas began his early years of schooling at St. Patrick’s Elementary in Ada, and then moved on to Belding High School. He attended the University of Michigan where he majored in both political science and history. After completing military service, Thomas used the G.I. Bill to attain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Michigan State University with a concentration in finance. He then obtained the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) certification.

PERSONAL Thomas and his wife, Erica, were married in 2010, and now have three children. They live in Lowell.

Biography for State Representative Ann Bollin

PROFESSIONAL State Rep. Ann Bollin was first elected in November 2018 and represents the 42nd District in southeast Livingston County.

Prior to her election to the House, Ann was the Brighton Township Clerk from 2003-2018 and was the longest serving clerk. Known for being a strong community leader, she also served on the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Michigan Townships Association Board of Directors (District 25 Director), Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks Legislative Committee and Council of Election Officials (Township Alternate), Livingston County Municipal Clerks Association as Treasurer and the Livingston Community Water Authority. She also serves on the Livingston County Community Alliance Marijuana Committee and is the immediate past president of Holy Spirit Catholic Church Parish Council and an associate member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. In 2018, she was enrolled in the Brighton Area Women’s History Roll of Honor.

EDUCATION She attended Central Michigan University and studied recreation therapy and was a Taubman Fellow at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program. She is also a MPLP (Michigan Political Leadership Program) alumni.

PERSONAL Ann and her husband Tim have three millennial age sons and reside in Brighton Township.
