Academic programs that are recognized among the best in the state are something HCC is proud of. Our students can choose from more than 70 different programs, leading to Associates in Arts and Associates in Science degrees. Our transfer programs are accepted across the state, and HCC has transfer and articulation agreements with every Kansas Regents university and college, along with a variety of institutions across the country. HCC transfer students consistently outperform “native� students in academic achievement at Kansas Regent schools. A low student to faculty ratio provides individualized attention and the opportunity for hands-on experiences through research opportunities and internships.


Our variety of technical programs prepare graduates to enter the workforce, well-prepared and trained on the latest methods and equipment available. Our programs are advised by industry leaders, who ensure our programs are meeting employers’ needs and our students are workforce-ready. Our students train on high-tech equipment, in laboratories that are equipped with the latest technologies, providing hands-on experiences for student learning.

Affordable education Perhaps at no other time has the cost of higher education been more important to students and their parents. HCC’s mission is to make a high-quality education affordable and accessable to all. With one of the least expensive tuition and fee structures in the state, HCC remains an affordable, but quality, education option for students. HCC has an outstanding scholarship program, awarding more than 500 scholarships yearly, with nearly 75 percent of all HCC students receivng some type of financial assistance to help meet their educational expenses. Our friendly and helpful Financial Aid office is ready to help you with all of your financial aid questions, and to guide you through the process. Many of our students choose to work while attending classes, and our Human Resources office can also assist you in helping to find a job, and with career advice and job placement services available to our students.


student s e r v i c e s HCC has a wide variety of academic support programs on campus, with on-campus tutoring available and supplemental instruction groups to assist students in learning and interacting with their peers Our Guidance and Counseling office can help with academic advising, career placement and testing services and also with personal counseling issues, to help our students adjust to college live smoothly. For those students with personal learning challenges, our Office of Disability Services is also ready to provide support as needed.


Students at HCC enjoy up-to-date learning technology, with the latest in computer equipment available in labs across campus. Our campus is fully accessible by high-speed wireless technology, and our Information Technology Services office provides free Technical Support Services to our students to help with their computer and other technology-related issues. For those students living in the dorms, internet service is also available in the rooms and lounges, to make learning accessible at any time. Rimmer Learning Resource Center has a state-of-the-art computer laboratory available, along with friendly student tutors on staff to help students with academic questions and learning assistance.


Community is a key word at HCC, and you’ll be a part of that community as a student in our residence halls. Interact with your friends, and make new ones as part of a group of nearly 450 students that call our dormitories home. HCC has an active campus life, with a variety of activities, planned by students for students. Events like karaoke, movie nights, dances, recreational sports and other activities help students get to know one another and become a part of the family that is HCC. Our students enjoy recently renovated residence halls, with suite-style rooms, modern and comfortable lounge areas and strategically-placed technology hubs, that allow students to learn in comfort and style

Bored is not a word you’ll think of at HCC. We have something for everyone and every interest. With more than 50 different clubs and organizations, no matter what your interest, we have a group for you. Our clubs and organizations provide numerous opportunities to fit in, test your leadership skills and have some fun, while making lifelong friends. Students can also enjoy our award-winning musical and theatre programs, a wide variety of artistic and intellectual events, and our unique Dillon Lecture Series that brings newsmakers, intellectuals and entertainers from around the world to Hutchinson to discuss a variety of issues and events. HCC also has the nationally-recognized student newspaper The Collegian and newsmagazine The Dragon’s Tale to keep students informed and aware of campus news and activities. There is also an active broadcast journalism program with a weekly campus news show for students to enjoy and even participate in.


Hutchinson Community College’s Blue Dragon athletic program has been a source of pride for the College and community. With 12 varsity sports (6 men’s and 6 women’sto offer, the Blue Dragons play in one of the toughest leagues and regions in the nation, and with great success. Two national championship trophies reside at HCC, with numerous regional and Jayhawk Conference championships to the Blue Dragons’ credit. • Nearly 100 Blue Dragon players have gone on to careers at Division I programs • Athletes achieve high grade point averages in the classroom as a group year after year •T op notch facilities, including Gowans Stadium and the famous Hutchinson Sports Arena, home to the NJCAA National Men’s Basketball Tournament

Distance education is a big part of Hutchinson Community College. HCC offers more than 2,500 classes per year, in over 50 locations, utilizing traditional classroom environments, as well as the latest in high-tech methods to reach students from around the state and country.
