EVERY GIFT CONTRIBUTES TO POSITIVE CHANGE FOR HAWAI‘I can use this Giving Tuesday as an opportunity to show our support and gratitude to your favorite organization.”

The holidays have a way of inspiring people to come together. And Giving Tuesday, which is right in the heart of the holiday season, is sure to bring people together again in 2019. For the past two years, banks, businesses, and nonprofits— many who could be considered competitors—have demonstrated that we all have a role to play in strengthening Hawai‘i by supporting our local nonprofit organizations on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This global day of giving, often referred to as Giving Tuesday, has been localized for Hawai‘i with the statewide effort called #GIVINGTUESDAYHI. Everyone can join in and bring about positive CHANGE in Hawai‘i by donating gifts of time, treasure, and talent to their favorite nonprofit organizations through the website CHANGEforHawaii.org

To amplify statewide giving, the Hawai‘i Community Foundation and many Giving Tuesday partners will be awarding more than $20,000 in $1,000 grants to nonprofit organizations that are nominated in posts on social media. Winners will be announced on December 4. A volunteer for Mobile Munchies makes bagged lunch for keiki who participate in the Boys and Girls Clubs programs on Kaua‘i.
