Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF) is here to help you with your end-of-year charitable gift and grant plans. We can ensure that your gifts are recorded in 2020 and your grants are received by December 31st if they are made by the dates below: • Gifts of appreciated stock should be made by December 23, 2020. (As long as stock is transferred by December 31, 2020, it will qualify, but the earlier date decreases any last-minute worry.)

• Checks sent via the U.S. Postal Service to Hawai‘i Community Foundation must be postmarked on or before December 31, 2020.

• Checks sent via carriers such as FedEx, UPS and DHL must be physically received at any HCF office on or before December 31, 2020.

• Wire transfers of cash must be initiated no later than December 23, 2020. (As long as the cash is wired by December 31, 2020, it will qualify, but the earlier date decreases any last-minute worry.)

• Credit card gifts given online can be made on or before December 31, 2020 at https://www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org/give • Grant recommendations should be made by December 7, 2020 to ensure checks are received by the end of the year. Do so by emailing your island HCF contact or using My Giving Gateway.

If you miss a date, we will do all we can to meet the 2020 requirements, but unfortunately cannot guarantee that your gift will apply to the 2020 tax year or that your grant is received by December 31st.

We are ready to help you complete your year-end charitable giving and have staff available to provide answers and process transactions until the last day of the year.

Because our staff continue to work remotely for their safety, access to our offices is limited. During the holidays, HCF will be closed starting at noon on December 24 through December 25. We will be closed again from noon on December 31 through January 1. We will be available to help you the mornings of December 24 and December 31 and all day on December 28, 29, and 30.
