The concert will feature Jack Johnson, Donavon Frankenreiter, Paula Fuga, Makana, and other special guests. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10 AM HST online at www.bampproject.com and www.seetickets.us. Last month, record-breaking rains in Hawai‘i caused widespread devastation on Kaua‘i leaving thousands of residents in need of support to rebuild their homes, businesses and farms. This concert was sparked by local musicians and community leaders who are passionate about spreading aloha and helping the people of Kaua‘i get back to normal life. Donavon Frankenreiter, a Kaua‘i resident and musician, called his friend Jack Johnson to help put on a benefit show for the community. Local promoter, BAMP Project, jumped on board to coordinate the event and several more musicians and local businesses have rallied together to host a night to raise money and lift the spirits of the locals who have been through so much. This storm will be remembered for years to come, not only for the damaging flood waters, but also for the way people have joined together to support the impacted families and communities. All net proceeds will go to the Kaua‘i Relief & Recovery Fund at Hawai‘i Community Foundation as well as other local organizations committed to flood relief. The Kaua‘i Relief and Recovery Fund was established, with support from Pierre and Pam Omidyar, to provide immediate assistance including emergency provisions, shelter and healthcare, as well as ongoing support to stabilize communities and rebuild. Within the first 24 hours, grants were distributed to local organizations who are bringing immediate relief to impacted communities, including assistance to residents who have been displaced from their homes or cut-off from receiving basic necessities including medical supplies, food and water. Hawai‘i Community Foundation is waiving any administrative fees on the fund for the first three months so that more funds are available to address critical needs. Grants are continuing to be distributed based on daily conversations with Kaua‘i nonprofits, HCF staff, and the County Office to identify immediate needs. This will be a plastic free show! The organizers are making every effort to eliminate the use of single-use plastics backstage and at all concessions. All beverages will be served in cans, all serveware will be compostable, and no single-use plastic water bottles will be sold on site. Instead fans can bring in their own empty reusable water bottles or cups to refill at the Menehune Water Refill Stations. Recycling and zero waste stations will also be located around the venue and coordinated by Zero Waste Kauai.
