Dar vida a la playa

Es una de las prácticas más habituales en las editoriales periodísticas, usar esta tribuna de opinión y este privilegiado espacio para expresar opiniones más o menos lanzadas que cuestionen la acción o actuación política en algunas de sus ramas y administraciones. Y que no se pierda. Vemos que la próxima semana se constituye en las Cortes para la próxima legislatura con un absoluto grado de incertidumbre sobre la próxima presidencia del gobierno, pactos legislativos o lo que parece otra opción, cada vez más viable, que acabe en repetición de elecciones.

En cualquiera de los casos, este empalagoso entramado político de los últimos años trae algo aburrido al votante tranquilo, ése que premia o castiga cada cuatro años la gestión o su falta en cualquiera de los ámbitos; un votante sin bufanda ni prejuicios que sólo busca su bienestar laboral, familiar y personal, en definitiva, cuatro años tranquilo.

Pero también se utiliza la editorial, en muchos de los casos cuando requiere reconocimiento, para exaltar acciones que deben reconocerse e impulsar que continúen por esa senda. El Ayuntamiento de San Roque y por extensión el tejido empresarial del Valle del Guadiaro colindante con la costa, es uno de los más activos de toda la región en la generación de actividades y contenidos durante los meses estivales.

Los vemos casi desde el inicio de la temporada en mayo, en junio con las hogueras e incluso en las noches de luna llena. Conciertos, actividades, mercadillos, talleres solidarios para niños, actividades de limpieza y divulgación de cuidado del medio ambiente, jornadas con los más mayores e incluso, campeonatos de fútbol y otros deportes.

La playa es vida y más en este rincón. Desde aquí premiar todas estas acciones, públicas y privadas, además de incentivar su continuidad en las próximas semanas. Les recuerdo que hay vida más allá de agosto.

Golf y sequía, un tema serio Golf and drought, a serious issue

Estamos disfrutando de uno de los veranos más plenos y con mayor presencia de residentes y visitantes de los últimos años, es de sobra conocido, el crecimiento exponencial tanto en población flotante como en residentes fijos en la urbanización a raíz de la pandemia. Un fenómeno que en parte, puso en valor y en alza todo el atractivo de un destino residencial de lujo como Sotogrande, en pleno contacto con la naturaleza y grandes espacios, baja densidad de construcción, etc. Un enclave perfecto.

Todos ese aumento de interés y atractivos, incluyendo una temporada con dos eventos de golf profesionales (LIV Golf y DP World) dentro de la propia urbanización, el Grand Slam de Polo, regata, etc. Se traducen en un destino imbatible y complejo de igualar. Siendo el golf, también el golf de temporada (entre otoño y primavera con la llegada de los visitantes centroeuropeos atraídos por el clima y los excelentes campos de la zona); uno de sus mayores pilares. Precisamente atravesamos una de las épocas y tramos de sequías más alarmantes en las últimas décadas, hace falta mirar aquellos cortes y restricciones a la población de principios de los años 90 para recordar una situación medianamente similar y las consecuencias ya comienza a verse en circunstancias que son muy importantes en las zonas.

Los márgenes de riego permitidos en la mayoría de campos de golf, hacen concentrar esfuerzos en tees y greenes, dejando imágenes de calles en un estado muy perjudicado. Por no mencionar las diferentes reglamentaciones en cuanto a lagos estéticos, piscinas y otros derivados con el agua como protagonista.

Estamos ante una situación ciertamente seria y preocupante. Mirar al cielo y esperar que llueva parece no ser una solución empírica ni el resultado esperado a largo plazo. Es necesario que las diferentes entidades e instituciones implicadas, tanto privadas como públicas, se pongan a trabajar completamente en serio para buscar estrategias y planes de actuación viables a corto y medio plazo.

Recuperar proyectos como Gibralmedina, por parte de la Mancomunidad, o establecer alternativas en los campos de golf y otras entidades similares; con suministro de agua reciclada y conexiones con depuradoras del entorno son planes que deben activarse y ponerse en marcha desde ya.

Sería una pésima solución esperar a que esta sequía o la siguiente, quién sabe, acabe con uno de los valores intrínsecos más importantes de este y otros entornos como es el golf o el polo o cualquier disciplina que requiera de similares suministros.

Supone un valor económico y de generación de empleo enorme, con docenas de familias que trabajan y viven gracias a esta actividad de tanta atracción turística y de servicio (hoteles, empresas de transporte, restaurantes, tiendas, proveedores, etc.). Una red perfecta y que debe cuidarse como cualquier otra sector estratégico, mientras tanto, disfruten de este maravilloso agosto en Sotogrande.
