Oakland School for the Arts (OSA) provides an immersive arts program with a comprehensive academic curriculum, preparing students to lead with imagination, vision and ingenuity. OSA students succeed; 96% of OSA’s hardworking alumni have been admitted into colleges and universities. OSA serves as a model in the worlds of arts, education and community development for how the arts can play a transformative role. OSA, in partnership with the Fox Theater and numerous businesses, schools and arts organizations, demonstrates how communities can come together to build healthy and vibrant urban centers. A public charter school, OSA serves over 600 students in grades 6 – 12. There are no tuition fees, and state funding has decreased immensely over the past five years. Private supporters help us to bridge this gap. Your generous contribution helps OSA to provide an excellent education to students and to foster a vision of effective and inspirational learning through the arts in a public school.

“The future belongs to those who find their voice. We have a natural propensity to create, to express ourselves, to make meaning of the world through artistic forms. An arts education makes full use of this wondrous human resource and creates a fertile environment in which all learning can flourish.” Donn Harris, Artistic and Executive Director, OSA

“OSA is an incubator to grow as a person” Elliot Carroll, School of Digital Media, 11th grade

“Human creativity is the ultimate economic resource.” Richard Florida, author of The Rise of the Creative Class
