FOUNDER’S MESSAGE |Every brand has a story. Ours begins with Family.

HDI was the pioneer in developing the network marketing business in Asia. Since 1986, we have been giving millions of individuals the opportunity to strive for a better life through our amazing bee products. Over the years, we have evolved to become a Family of Companies, entering various industries where we felt we can make a difference. It all started because I wanted to provide a better life for my family. I never expected that my family –the HDI Family– would grow to encompass what it is today. That is why there is a great sense of responsibility to carry on this tradition as more people join us. We will strive for progress and growth not for commercial greed, but for continuity and stability, so that we can provide for the thousands of families that depend on us each day. And we will carry on existing as an institution of living, learning and loving so that we may give our children and their children after them a place to call home. This is our business. Although profit is important in sustaining our organisation, it is not what we value the most. From day one, we have always been about people. So from the smallest gestures to the biggest decisions we make at HDI every day, we strive to achieve great things together with our fellow men and through our actions, be an inspiration to others.

Throughout the years, HDI has sponsored many athletes and Olympians. Notable personalities such as “Asia’s Track Queen” Lydia De Vega, “Asia’s Long Jump Queen” Elma Muros, The Living Proof author and senior record-setting marathoner Noel Johnson and “Malaysian Diving Princess” Pandelela Rinong have attributed their athletic prowess to our bee products. HDI is also the only health food company that has consistently sponsored the Olympic Committee of Malaysia (OCM) since 1990.

|HDI Foundation

HDI Foundation is our independent charity organisation that helps to educate underprivileged children. To date, we have built 11 schools, trained 350 teachers and sent more than 1,300 children to school. HDI Foundation regularly runs education programs to improve the job prospects of graduates and helps companies to connect with the schools via corporate social responsibility programs. Through the efforts of volunteers, we have also provided disaster relief to areas devastated by natural calamities.

|Selamat Pagi Indonesia

In 2003, HDI and participating enterprisers embarked on Vision 2010, an initiative to to establish a school and dormitory for orphans. This milestone was achieved through the efforts of everyone involved: the enterprisers donated a percentage of their earnings to help build the school in Batu Malang, Indonesia while HDI donated the land. Known as Sekolah Selamat Pagi Indonesia today, this unique institution goes above and beyond the standard school curriculum to teach life skills such as farming, entrepreneurship and personal development. It also frequently arranges for overseas trips to expose students to different sights and cultures. It is currently managed by HDI enterprisers under the Billionaire group and its 150 students run the school’s day to day activities. Sekolah Selamat Pagi Indonesia has also evolved into a theme park for families, catering to corporate training events and providing guest house accommodation. It has plans to expand further in the future.

Founding father and Chairman Emeritus of the HDI Family of Companies, Peter Chia has been an inspiration to millions of people all over the world. Coming from a humble beginning with no business background, he was driven to start HDI to provide for his family. He spent the next 20 years building up HDI from scratch into what it has become today.

Brandon Chia is the 2nd generation to lead the HDI Family of Companies. Having first joined HDI in 2005 as its International Operations Manager, Brandon took over the running of the Philippines Business Group in 2007 and was formally appointed as Chairman and CEO of the HDI Family of Companies in 2012.

HDI’s Medical Consultant Program was created in 2008 to recognize the growing number of doctors joining our ranks due to the effectiveness of our products. To date, we have 40 doctors working tirelessly to provide free medical medical advice, conduct health seminars and facilitate case studies using HDI products. They are doctors not just of science, but also of nature in the way they understand the power of holistic medical treatments. We recognise them annually for their efforts through our Medical Consultant Outstanding Service Awards.

MILESTONES High-Desert Philippines is incorporated and becomes the first and biggest network marketing company in the country. HighDesert is accredited by the Philippine Bureau of Food and Drugs.

High-Desert Malaysia opens its doors and becomes an industry pioneer. Its products are accredited by the Drug Control Authority of Malaysia.

High-Desert Hong Kong is set up as a branch of High-Desert Philippines to cater to the demands of the Filipino community there. Later, it becomes a fully-fledged independent operation. High-Desert diversifies into real estate development, finance, stock brokerage and outdoor advertising in the Philippines.

High-Desert Singapore is founded and begins importing bee products from the USA. Without a budget for advertising, it distributes products directly via individuals or what we now know as network marketing.

High-Desert Indonesia officially opens its doors. HDI Nutrients, Inc., a research and development facility in Arizona, USA is incorporated. High-Desert products are accredited by different HALAL authorities.

HDI Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing access to education for underprivileged children is set up. For the first time in history, top High-Desert distributors are given the opportunity to become shareholders of the company.

High-Desert Indonesia holds its first ever Regional Convention in Surabaya, Indonesia.

Senator Tom Harkin pushes the US National Institute of Health to set up the Department of Alternative Medicine after experiencing first hand the wonders of Aller-Bee-Gone in curing his allergies.

Brandon Chia, is appointed as Chairman and CEO of the HDI Family of Companies.

Sekolah Selamat Pagi school and dormitory for orphans, the culmination of Vision 2010, officially opens its doors, housing 100 orphans.

HDI Indonesia becomes the corporate HQ of the network marketing business group with the acquisition of its own 9 storey building in Menteng, Jakarta. It also launches its new corporate identity to celebrate its 20th year in Indonesia. HDI Admix is set up to consolidate the advertising business group in the Philippines. It opens its doors to a 3,000 square metre integrated headquarters, making it one of the biggest outdoor advertising companies in the country.
