How to Relieve Sunburn with Home Remedies
..................................................................................................... Did you assume that the sun is your friend until you exposed yourself for a prolonged period and got burned? Sunburn is no joke as it is considered a third-degree burn with its pain, redness andinflammation. If left untreated, it can have adverse consequences. You might be tempted to slather some petroleum jelly on the affected areas, but that would just make the problem worse so avoid it. If you want to relieve sunburn quickly, try the following home remedies. 1. Milk Compress Milk is very effective at relieving sunburn symptoms like inflammation, pain and irritation due to its cooling and moisturizing properties. Put a cup of milk in a bowl along with four cups of water and ice cubes. Soak a towel or clean cloth in it and compress it on the affected area for 20 minutes. Apply this remedy three times a day. 2. Ice Pack Prepare an icepack by wrapping some ice cubes in a muslin cloth then compress it on the affected area. This will relief the burning sensation quickly and will reduce inflammation as the coldness would narrow the blood vessels. Be careful not to apply ice directly on the affected areas.
