With independence comes big opportunities. To make the most of them, here’s what you need to know

First jobs, holidays with friends, driving tests and eventually moving out – there are some big life events on the horizon. As you gain greater independence away from your family, you also gain greater responsibility both for yourself and those around you. When you get more money, you need to know what to do with it. When you start a job, you need to know what’s expected. Much of this comes with experience, but we have tried to set out some of the key things you might need to know over the next few pages.
