What is Cool Sculpting? Cool Sculpting is a cosmetic procedures used for fat reduction. The procedure uses the latest technological advancements for eliminating unwanted fat from localized pockets. It is a non-invasive alternative which works similarly to liposuction, except without the use of suctioning cannulas, needles or drugs. The procedure is safe, approved by the FDA and clinically proven to be effective at reducing body fat without harming any of the surrounding sensitive tissues. Patients can benefit from this less expensive alternative and they are able to return to a normal schedule immediately following a treatment. If you are interested in this procedure and you live in New Jersey you can contact a board certified cosmetic surgeon in NJ for more information on the Cool Sculpting procedure.
How Does Cool Sculpting Work? Customized treatment plans are developed for each individual client based on their personal expectations and desires. The treatment is performed by a Board Certified surgeon and his medical staff who will map out the area to be treated and then apply a special gel sheet that is specifically designed to protect the skin. There is no need for medications or anesthesia. A vacuum applicator is used to pull the pocket of fat away from the body. Once it is separated, a cooling panel is positioned such that the temperature of the fatty tissue is reduced. Applicators are designed with sensors which can ensure that the appropriate temperature is achieved. The cooling effect on the separated pocket of fat will cause the fat cells to crystallize. The body’s lymphatic system will naturally break them down and flush them out of the body. During the next 2 to 4 months the body will completely remove the fat from the treated areas which will continue to flatten out as the fat is gradually washed out of the body. It is typical for patients to see a decrease of about 2 inches. Depending on the patients specific problematic areas further treatments may be needed although a vast number of patients only need the initial treatment to achieve the desired results.
