Outstanding! Again!
H
eartlands Academy has just been judged OUTSTANDING AGAIN! Although not an ‘“official” inspection, it was carried out under the current Ofsted framework by an independent team who had been commissioned by our sponsors. Every area, including teaching and learning, received an Outstanding judgement. Credit must go to all the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to ensure the best outcomes for our students. Credit also to the students themselves and their parents for all their hard work and support. Well done, everyone!

Sixth Form Triumph! The Sixth Form Football team participated in The Sixth Form 7-a-side Football Tournament at Small Heath school - and won it!! They played four other teams on a mini league basis and won all four games. Small Heath 0 v 2 Heartlands The first game against the host team. Very tight until Adam Farah scored with a great shot following a corner. Then Shariq Ajmal scored the goal of the tournament, beating several defenders, before rounding the goalkeeper. Heartlands 4 v 0 Waverley This game was a stroll against the weakest team in the tournament. Abdul Shahad scored a hat-trick, being
in the right place at the right time to finish three great team goals. Captain Javid Zahidi completed the scoring. Heartlands 2 v 1 K.E.S.H. The toughest game, against the pre tournament favourites. Shariq scored to put us ahead only for K.E.S.H. to equalise. Fedis Sokoli scored the winning goal in the last minute. St Albans 0 v 1 Heartlands The deciding game. St Albans needed to win, but a draw would be sufficient for us to finish top of the table. A hard fought game, with chances at both ends, Ahmed called on again to make several important saves. The game was settled with the only goal of the game scored by Shariq. Well done to all of the squad. Larry Heath, Manager
