FRIDAY Huron Community Fair Photos
Redneck truckers race for the finish line at Huron County Fair
BY CONNOR VEENSTRA
The stadium was packed at the Huron County Fair the evening of Friday, August
4. The Redneck Truck Race attracted so many people they delayed it by half an hour so more people could get in before it started. The race had 25 participants this year, seven more than last year, including five rookies.
The race was a high-speed affair, with the drivers going much faster than one might expect from such heavy vehicles. There were multiple collisions on the course and one of the trucks even had to be carried away by a forklift. There was danger of fire, but luckily Huron County emergency responders were on the scene to make sure nobody got hurt or killed.
