I have followed all withdrawal periods for animal health products and substances used, practiced good animal husbandry, and my project has been ethically and humanely cared for. I acknowledge and accept the fact that my animals may be subject to drug and residue testing. Upon a positive confirmation forfeiture of all prize money, sale and/or market value, premiums, trophies will be the penalty. Parent/Guardian Signature (one form per family per species) We, the above signed exhibitor and parent/guardian, certify that we have read, acknowledge and will abide by all the rules as set forth by the County Expectations for Participation in the Marion Fair Livestock Show and Sale Conduct Policy, County Fair Book, and this Exhibitor Code of Conduct and Project Animal Certification/Care Form as they pertain to the exhibition of each species. For beef animals only: We, the above signed exhibitor and parent/ guardian, certify that Beef and Dairy Beef to be sold for human consumption are less than 30 months of age. EXHIBITOR CODE OF CONDUCT: We agree to conduct ourselves with honesty, integrity and good sportsmanship. We will treat all fair and livestock show management personnel, Fair officials, judges and exhibitors with courtesy, cooperation and respect and shall not direct any abusive or threatening conduct toward them. Furthermore, we will not direct criticism or interference with fair or livestock show management personnel, Fair officials, judges and exhibitors in conducting the activities associated with the event. We understand that any conduct that is contrary to theses items will be brought before the Fair Board for review and may result in the disqualification of individual people and animal(s) from the activities associated with the Marion Fair. PROJECT ANIMAL CERTIFICATION: We certify that we will not have administered to the animal(s), nor has it received, any substance not approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and/or the Marion Fair for slaughter/breeding stock/exhibition animals. This includes, but is not limited to, diuretics, steroids, repartitioning agents, tranquilizers and analgesics. We also certify that, with respect to any drug, chemical or feed additive approved by the FDA and/or USDA for slaughter animals that no illegal use of approved chemical/ compounds has taken place and that the applicable withdrawal period as recognized by the FDA has expired prior to shipping out of market livestock on any and all approved chemical/ compounds administered. We acknowledge and accept the fact that animals entered at the Marion Fair may be subject to blood, urine and tissue tests and that the Fair reserves the right to disqualify any animals, either live or slaughtered, found in violation of the use of drugs, chemicals or feed additives as described above and in the Marion Fair Book. Disqualification may result in the placing(s) of the animal in question be voided; the forfeiture of any and all ribbons trophies/ special awards earned with the animal(s); the assessement of a fine against the total premiwns due equal in the amount to the premiurn(s) earned with the animal(s); voiding of the sale(s) if the animal(s) has been sold in the 4-H

Livestock Sale and the disbarment of the exhibitor from exhibiting at the Marion Fair for a period of up to three years. Other animals will not be moved up in placing. We will allow the designated tester/veterinarian to draw any and all samples deemed appropriate from our animal(s). PROJECT ANIMAL CARE: We, the above signed exhibitor and parent/ guardian, have read, acknowledge, accept and will abide by all the animal care, housing and maintenance rules as set forth in the Marion Fair Premium Book, the appropriate species rule books, and those listed below. We acknowledge that the above mentioned animal(s) have been under my regular care since the initial tagging or project registration date. Proper care (feeding, handling, etc.) of project animals and maintenance (cleanliness, neatness, etc.) of assigned fair housing is the responsibility of the exhibitor. Project animals mist be cared for in accordance with commonly accepted feeding/handling practices, and the animal's pen/ stall cleaned and bedded as necessary on a daily basis. Proper care and maintenance of all animals and their assigned housing area will be monitored by the appropriate species Superintendent of the Fair. ETHICAL AND HUMANE TREATMENT OF ANIMALS: We acknowledge that inhumane filling, showing and/or handling practices or devices shall not be used. Furthermore, surgery, injections, or application of foreign material under and/or into the flesh of an animal to change the natural contour or conformation of the animal is illegal. The use of showing and/or handling practices or devices such as striking animals to cause swelling, using electrical contrivance, insertion of foreign material in the animal. or other such practices are not acceptable and will be prohibited. Violation of the above mentioned items could result in the disqualification of the animal and/or exhibitor. We acknowledge and accept the fact that the Superintendent for a given animal species and the Marion Fair Livestock personnel may authorize the examination of a given animal for identification purposes and/or health related concerns in our absence, including obtaining the temperature of the animal in question. www.marionfair.com | June 16-22, 2019

Marion Farm Exhibit Association - Marion Fair Tent & Trailer Registration

1. At least one adult chaperone (21 years or older) must stay in each tent or trailer every night. 2. All spaces will be numbered and assigned on west side of river by the Camping Committee. 3. A midnight curfew on the fairgrounds will be enforced unless accompanied by a parent or leader. Those camping or visiting campers on the grounds must be by their units and quiet by midnight. NO IMPROPER CONDUCT WILL BE PERMITTED. 4. The Marion Fair Exhibit Association and/or the Fairboard will not be responsible for any injury, loss, or damages whatever the reason incurred while camping on the fairgrounds. 5. Campers are responsible for their own garbage. It must be placed in the dumpsters NOT the barrels. 6. NO generators between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. , 7. NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES, ALCOHOL OR VULGAR LANGUAGE ON THE GROUNDS OR CAMP GROUNDS. 8. Superintendents or fairboard members may bring in and set up campers Saturday prior to start of fair. Everyone else canset-up the Sunday prior to start of fair. 9. Pets shall be on a leash at all times. Owner is responsible for pet waste clean-up. Any excessive noise from pet, and pet shallbe removed from the grounds. 10. Only two vehicles per campsite, additional parking available on west side of river. 11. No livestock trailers in camping area, must park on west side of river or on other side of beef barn. Horse trailers with usable living quarters are exceptions. 12. All roads and driveways must be kept clear and open at all times. This is for fire, emergency, and police traffic. If any vehicle is restricting the road or driveway it must be moved or it will be towed at owners expense. 13. All reservations will be dated upon receipt. 14. PLEASE INCLUDE BIRTH DATE, CORRECT NAME, TELEPHONE NUMBER, ADDRESS AND ZIP CODE WHERE PREMIUM CHECK CAN BE MAILED. All entry blanks need to be completely filled out with Department, Division, Section, Class Number and MUST be legible. Exhibitors and their families that do not show respect and courtesy at all times to fellow exhibitors, spectators, judges, superintendents, and fair officials shall be subject to lose all fair privileges including disbarment from the fair and any fair functions at the discretion of the Marion Farm Exhibit Association (D.B.A. the Marion Fair) Exhibit Building entry tags must contact Superintendent. Exhibitors needing buyers passes need to contact fair office. Livestock exhibitors needing parking passes will be handed out by Superintendents (exhibitors will receive two parking passes per family, additional passes must be purchased). All open class exhibitors must reside in the following counties: Osceola, Lake, Wexford, Missaukee, Clare or Mecosta. The management will not be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any animal exhibited or for any article of any kind/nature that may be lost or destroyed, or damaged in any way. The Board of Directors reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrarily settle and determine all matters, questions of differences in regard thereto. It further reserves the right to amend or add to these rules and in case receipts of the Fair are insufficient to pay expenses and premiums in full, premiums may be prorated among those entitled to same. The management reserve to itself the sole and absolute right to settle disputes and misunderstanding arising out of premiums awards or any phase of enterprise of the Fair without claim for damages. The management reserves the right to reject any exhibits deemed unworthy. Each division of the fair will have in charge one or more superintendents, who with such assistant or clerk as may be needed, will have the management of such departments. Superintendents of all departments exhibiting for them will be furnished with judges sheets in the department and receive such instructions as may be necessary. These sheets must be returned to the treasurer with the finding of the judges properly recorded thereon, as soon as premiums are awarded. The superintendent and judge must sign each sheet on which premiums are awarded. No exhibitor or any persons shall at any time, without the permission of the fair board, lead or ride their animals from the barns to any place on the fair grounds where they may endanger pedestrians. Any infraction of this rule shall forfeit all premiums and shall be sufficient cause to have animals removed from the fair grounds. Exhibitors must be in good standing with the Association to participate or exhibit in Association sponsored events. Exhibitors are not entitled to draw more than one money in anyone class. Only one money will be paid on group class. NO MORE THAN ONE ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM ANY ONE EXHIBITOR IN ANY ONE CLASS, UNLESS DEPT. RULES SPECIFY DIFFERENTLY. Champion ribbons will not be awarded in livestock classes unless exhibits warrant it. 21. Any person using deception in entering animal or article shall not be awarded a premium and shall be disbarred from exhibiting. 22. Exhibitors will provide their own hay, grain, & bedding. All stalls must be cleaned after animals leave the fairgrounds. 23. Exhibitors having questions as to placings should check with the Department Superintendent as soon as Department is judged. All claims to be in writing by the close of the Fair. 24. Exhibitors refusing or failing to exhibit livestock when so ordered by the Superintendent in charge shall forfeit all fees at the directions of the Superintendent. 25. Judge may disregard any entry as unworthy of premium. 26. Youth Horses will enter the Saturday of the fair and will be released as soon as they are done showing. Horses must be pre-registered. 27. All exhibitors will be awarded ribbons in all departments based on placings as designated. 28. Current RFID tags must be met on dairy cattle and beef cattle. Animals will not be unloaded without these papers. All sheep and goats must have scrapie tags before unloaded. All horses must have coggins test before unloading 29. All open class and market animals must be properly dehorned. If due to breed standards, they cannot be, then owner must provide protective fencing that is acceptable to the superintendent so the animal cannot reach the public. 30. All pens must be cleaned on Sunday after fair, starting at 8 a.m. Failure to do this will result in a $40 penalty or forfeit of premiums. Arrangements must be made with appropriate superintendent if can not abide by this. Must be at barns at 8 a.m. to start. Pens need to be cleaned between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. 31. The Marion Farm Exhibit Association reserves the right to require any animal shown in the fair to be subject to examination and/or testing, as deemed necessary, in order to determine if a foreign substance has been administered to an animal to alter its conformation, weight and/ or temperament or to test for bovine tuberculosis. Administering any such substance will be considered by the Fair Board to be fraud, which is subject to a penalty of up to $50,000 or imprisonment up to 5 years, or both if convicted. It is a violation of Federal and State laws to sell an animal that may enter the food chain that has been altered and/or that has any drug residues present. All stands where food is served to the public shall be constructed of substantial materials and provided with durable roofs. All concessions serving food or drink must have all cooking, processing, or preparation area properly covered so that food will be protected at all times from dust, dirt, insects, rodents and other contamination. All such concessions must be provided with a plentiful supply of hot water for washing dishes and other utensils. Equipment used in the cooking of hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks, or other foods or in the preparation of other foods such as candy and candy coated apples must be enclosed on at least three sides with covers extending entirely over such equipment. All goods must be kept covered and protected from dust, dirt, and insects at all times. Soda straws must be individually wrapped, sugar bowls and condiment containers properly covered. This regulation shall not prohibit the use of individually wrapped or packaged portions of such items. Cooking of foods in the open will not be permitted. No food or drink concessions may be operated within 50 feet of a stable, refuse pile, or outside toilet not connected to sewer or septic tank. All garbage must be kept covered in fly-tight, durable containers and removed daily. Beverages and all other drinks, except tea and coffee, must be served in sanitary individual cups or closed individual containers. A new cup must be used for each person served. Such beverages must be drawn or served from cooler bottles or closed.

.Must be a factory chassis and transmission. One engine only (small engine type), no more than 4000 RPM’s. No snowmobile or motorcycle engines. RPM’s will be checked prior to and after pull. All modified exhaust will be pointed up straight up. Stock exhaust may be either pointed up or out. No mowing decks or other tools are allowed on the tractor. Speed limits will be enforced. Tractors must weigh in and register 30 minutes before pull. No Gas or Weight can be added after weigh in. Rubber tires only, No Duals, no four wheel drive. Top Cut only, No cutting to front bar or into casing. Tractors must have reverse and functional steering. Must also have wheelie bars( no spring devises).and deemed safe by the Club. Premiums will be awarded an exhibit on a group system of A, B and C. 6. Exhibitors and their families that do not show respect and courtesy at all times to fellow exhibitors, spectators, judges, superintendents, and fair officials shall be subject to lose all fair privileges including disbarment from the fair and any fair functions at the discretion of the Marion Farm Exhibit Association (D.B.A. the Marion Fair) 7. Exhibitors having questions as to placings should check with the Department Superintendent as soon as Department is judged. All claims to be in writing by the close of the Fair. Exhibitors refusing or failing to exhibit livestock when so ordered by the Superintendent in charge shall forfeit all fees at the directions of the Superintendent. Judge may disregard any entry as unworthy of premium. Current RFID tags in ears must be met on dairy cattle, and beef cattle. Animals will not be unloaded without these papers. Scrapie requirements must be met on sheep and goats. Animals will not be unloaded without scrapie tags. All premium checks not cashed within one year of check date will be considered a donation to the Marion Fair Exhibit Association to be used for educational/building fund. group rating, the judge has the privilege of starting with the ribbon or rating he/she decides upon. Any person or animal under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will not be allowed to participate at the fair. Projects will be removed from exhibit and premiums forfeited. All exhibitors are limited to one exhibit in any class unless otherwise stated. No animal may be shown by more than one exhibitor. Each exhibitor must personally show and sell his or her own livestock. Primary responsibility for grooming animals for show is that of the exhibitor. (Parents and other youth may assist) Youth exhibitors must dress appropriately on show day and sale night-clean pants, shirt and clean leather boots or shoes, club/ logo t-shirts are permissible. No open-toed shoes or tank tops allowed. No mid DIVISIONs shall be exposed. These guidelines cover both large and small animal participants. Any conflicts in the Youth Division will be handled by the Species Superintendent. If unresolved it will be taken to the Livestock Committee, and if still unresolved it will go before the Fair Board. It’s the intent of the Fair Board to deal in a timely manner on all conflicts at the time of the incident. Where there is no competition for champion, the making of these awards will be left to the discretion of the judge, depending upon the worthiness of the exhibit. Pens are to be bedded with natural material (wood shavings, straw, etc).

The Marion Fair believes a young person learns best by daily, active involvement with their project. 33. Animals shown in Youth Division MAY NOT be the same ones shown in Open Division. 34. The Marion Fair Livestock Auction is open to youth members only who meet the following requirements A. Enrolled with a County Youth Club by December 1st of the current year that is recognized by the extension office. B. Market members must attend a minimum of two (2) education meetings through the extension office. C. Reside in the following counties: Osceola, Lake, Wexford, Missaukee, Clare, Isabella or Mecosta County. 36. An individual animal may be weighed-in by more than one immediate family member but can be shown by only one (1) family member. 37. An Exhibitor may enter and sell 6 market animals at the sale.

All open class and market animals must be properly dehorned. Market animals must be dehorned by their respective beginning weigh-ins. Dehorning is the removable of the horn, it must be flush. Scurs are horns that can be moved by the hand. If due to breed standards, they cannot be, then owner must provide protective fencing that is acceptable to the superintendent so the animal cannot reach the public. 45. 10% commission fee on all items selling through the sale.

Pen of 3 meeting requirements to sell at the livestock auction (not over 70 days, 3 to 5 pounds). Must be tattooed by Osceola Small Animal Association). Must have completed record book to sell and show. 2. The singer fryer project must consist of one (1) single market rabbit, which must be from the pen of three (3) (not over 70 days and weigh 3-5 pounds). Must be tattooed by Osceola Small Animal Association. 3. The roaster class project must be under 6 months of age. Minimum weight is over 5 pounds. See Swine health rules at front of book. Swine exhibitors must provide feed troughs. Swine must be in owner’s possession and weighed and tagged in April at the Fairgrounds. See schedule for entry and show times. Swine owners must be present to show and sell their swine. Swine must weigh between 220 lbs - 290 lbs. at final weigh-in to sell at auction. (Swine not meeting this requirement may compete in showmanship). All exhibitors in the Market Hog department must show their project in showmanship class. All swine must have a minimum of 1/2 inch of hair. All swine that do not meet this requirement will be sent home. No oil-based products can be used on the swine during the fair. P.Q.A. is not required for show, but is highly recommended for educational purposes. Each exhibitor may weigh-in only 2 pigs at beginning weigh-in. All swine go to slaughter. All swine not making weight will be put into roaster class (180219 lbs.) or overweight class. They will be judged and can sell, but can not compete for Grand and Reserve Champion classes.
