The Talent Fund reflects the state’s commitment to bolstering the workforce by providing individuals with the industry-recognized credentials and training needed to fill indemand jobs.
It also aligns with Gov Gretchen Whitmer s Sixty by 30 initiative to increase the number of working-age adults with a skills certificate or college degree to 60 percent by the year 2030.

Hardman Construction and Big Rapids Products are two prime examples of companies that have benefited
tremendously from the Going PRO Talent Fund Last year, Ludington-based Hardman Construction received a $54,760 grant and Big Rapids Products more than $42,000 to train their respective workforces. Both companies have demonstrated a commitment to developing and rewarding in-house talent while also welcoming new hires.
Through the Talent Fund, Hardman Construction was able to enhance its employee development efforts for 20 current and three new employees with foreman bootcamp leadership crane and rigging training They also received funds to help train six construction apprentices.
Big Rapids Products shares a similar success story, as it used its award to train 23 of its employees in leadership or electrical maintenance tracts. Impressed by the
