HOLA Internship Opportunities Hundreds of lives get impacted every day because of the support of our volunteers. HOLA interns/volunteers are vital to helping us provide our youth with a life full of positive development and new opportunities. Interns are needed to provide invaluable assistance in HOLA’s Development and Communications Departments. Interns should be able to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week. Database Intern (prior experience working with a database required) · Excel in HOLA's existing database and learn how to design and modify it to meet HOLA's specific needs. · Develop and implement procedures and protocols for inputting and updating information in the database. · Create a user handbook and train HOLA staff in procedures to ensure project sustainability. · Work with staff to identify connections, merge accounts and input necessary data for the purpose of ensuring the database meets organizational needs. · Create administrative privileges to restrict access where necessary. · Develop queries to communicate with different groups. Volunteer Intern · Update and maintain a volunteer information database. · Further develop the existing recruitment process to increase number of and diversity of volunteers. · Develop a volunteer appreciation program to increase retention rates of recruited volunteers. · Develop a volunteer manual/training guide to maximize the volunteer experience and ensure project sustainability. · Develop and implement strategies for diversifying the volunteer pool, including building on established community partnerships and fostering new relationships with local businesses, churches, and government agencies. · Manage current relationships and develop new relationships with community organizations to maximize the impact of HOLA's programs. Communications Intern · Assist in making the HOLA message clear, complete, engaging and user friendly · Research and write a wide range of stories - coverage of events, interviews with students, staff and volunteers, profiles of partner organizations, etc. · Pitch stories for in-house use and for publication in local and/or national publications · Develop multi-media content (photo essays, videos, etc.)
