My Awesome Trip to San Fran

Alan-‐My Awesome Trip to San Fran

My cousin's bat mitzvah was in a few days. She lives in Palo Alto or some little town right next to it. The plan was that everyone in my family would go, but my brother had an important soccer game. Usually my dad was the one who goes with the kid who has a soccer tournament, but this time, it was my mom that stayed. Bat Mitzvahs tend to have activities from Friday night to Sunday morning. At first, we were going to fly on Friday but we thought that would be too cramped. We ended up heading out on Thursday. We took a plane directly from Boston to San Francisco Airport. That meant 7 hours of some nice quality time with my Dad. We flew with Jet Blue, and I actually enjoyed the flight. They were pretty comfortable seats compared to other companies, and we had a television in the back of the seat in front of us. I brought my laptop, but since there was no internet, I couldn’t do much besides listen to music on iTunes. So I re watched the Dark Night Rises. It was the only good movie they were showing on the TV. We eventually arrived at the San Francisco Airport. We went straight to baggage claim. We waited for about 10 minutes before getting all our luggage. “So, what now?” I asked. “We have to take the airbus to where the rental cars are,” my Dad responded. I sighed. The airport was pretty big and I was sitting on a plane for a long time. My legs felt stuck from not moving them for so long. The airbus is basically a horizontal elevator/gondola that makes it easier and quicker to go from terminal to terminal. We arrived at Budget Rental and we picked up some comfortable 8 seater so we can

drive our cousins too. We arrived at San Francisco at about 6 o’clock, California time. Our hotel, which was in Palo Alto, is about 30 minutes away from the airport. My dad called my dad’s brother to ask where he was and if we could have dinner with them. “Hola David. Donde estás?” “Estoy en el restaurante cerca del hotel.” “Oh, ok nos vemos.” We kept on driving until we found a seafood restaurant right next to our hotel. We entered and my grandparents and all my cousins from my dad’s side were there. We all hugged each other and greeted one another. My dad and I have already had dinner on the plane so we just asked for some shrimp. After talking with the family, we finally head to our hotel at around 9 o’clock. It was dark and I couldn’t see much but I thought I saw a swimming pool and a basketball court outdoors. My dad and I had to check in and ask for two keys. After we checked in, we went straight upstairs and I went and brushed my teeth. I was really tired from the plane since I didn’t sleep on it so I went to sleep at about 10:30. That would be my last night going to sleep before 11:30. Since San Francisco is 3 hours behind Eastern time, I woke up at 7:30. I didn’t do much that day. I played some basketball with my cousin Alex and mostly relaxed all day. *** My dad and I had to wake up pretty early the next

day. It was a Saturday and it was the day of the Bat Mitzvah. I showered, ate breakfast, brushed my teeth and dressed up all nicely. Then I went to the synagogue. It was long and kind of boring but I had fun at the lunch with my cousins. We threw some acorns or something like it at each other and it was really fun. We went to my cousin’s house in Palo Alto where we played soccer football and basketball. *** The next day was the brunch. There were about 20 or so people there. I ate some good food and went outside with a bunch of my cousins and we played with a soft ball. We had a lot of fun and I enjoyed being hit by the ball by my little cousins. Or at least I pretended I did to keep them happy.

The cousin I get along with most is my cousin Alex. He has a great sense of humor, keeps up with American sports leagues like the NFL and plays soccer. I really like spending time with him. In fact, I spent most of the time at the party with him.

After several days of hanging out with some of my favorite people in the world, it was finally time to leave. It was hard to say good bye but I had to go to the airport with my dad. Around 8 hours later, I was with my family back at Boston again. I missed San Fran, but I was happy to be with my mom and my brother. Well, maybe not my brother.
