Strandad In Coolidge Corner by Emma

Stranded In Coolidge Corner Emma One Friday afternoon, I went to Cleveland Circle with a few of my friends. We went to the usual places to hang out like Eagles, Dunkin’ Donuts, Fruitee Yogurt, and Starbucks. We will most likely spend all of the money we had on us at those places. After most of my friends left, Ian and I had to think about what to do next. “Iaannnnn” I complained. “We should go do something fun! It’s too nice out for us to go back to your house. I don’t feel like watching you play your stupid video games.” “I know, its so nice out!” Ian said. We weren’t going to let this beautiful, sunny Friday go to waste. I texted some of my friends from Driscoll and they said they were about to go to Coolidge Corner. They invited Ian and I to meet up with them. So we hopped on the train with out taking note that we had almost no money left! Once we got to Coolidge Corner, we met up with our friends from Driscoll and hung out with them for a while. After a lot of fun, it was dark and they had to leave. So Ian and I once again, went back to the train. Ian reached for money in his pocket and found a quarter. So I smiled at the train driver. “Just a second” I told him. The conductor looked annoyed with us, probably because we were taking a long time. Ian reached into his other pocket and pulled it out revealing nothing. Then, Ian ripped off his backpack in a hurry and searched through the many unorganized papers floating around in it. The conductor rolled his eyes. “We don’t have enough money to get us back to Cleveland Circle” Ian said. I had that look on my face where I really wanted to be saying, “You have got to be kidding me.” Instead I just said “Oh.” I was a little stressed out. Ian called his Dad. “Uh hi Dad, is there any way you could pick us up?” “Where?” said Ian’s Dad. “Coolidge Corner.” “Sorry Ian, not now I’m at work. In about an hour I can.” “Ugh, ok. Thanks Dad.” “One hour.” Ian said to me. “Seriously? I’m really cold and I don’t want to wait that long.” All of a sudden, Ian’s phone began to ring. It was his Dad! Ian talked to his Dad and said to me “Yes! My Dad can come get us now!”

Ian and I realized that we should have noticed how much money we had before we went and did something else. We should have planned out how much money we needed to save to get back to Cleveland Circle. Instead, we were carless about how much money we spent. We were really lucky that his Dad had the time to pick us up so we wouldn’t be waiting for an hour in the cold.
