Jane Eyre: An Autobiography From the creators of ‘Austen’s Women’, ‘I, Elizabeth’, ‘The Unremarkable Death of Marilyn Monroe’, ‘Female Gothic’ and ‘Dalloway’. Struggling to think, live and love beyond the stifling expectations of duty, class and convention, governess Jane Eyre and Master Edward Rochester take a dark journey towards sensual and intellectual liberation. Told through Jane’s eyes, English literature’s most celebrated autobiographical novel shocked the Victorians, and Charlotte Brontë’s gothic subversion of fairy-tale romance is now distilled for the stage – under its full title – by writer/director Elton Townend Jones. Performer Rebecca Vaughan embodies everywoman Jane – and several other characters – in this intimate study of love’s realities.

‘What are we to make of the men of violence whose time has been and gone, and who have settled into both civil and civilian life? Is there any reason at all to suppose that their capacity for murder has somehow drained away, or will it always be there, like a lining of grease and fat lurking in their mental plumbing?’ Award winning novelist and screenwriter Colin Bateman’s second stage play asks the question, can forgiveness overcome the want for revenge in 21st century Northern Ireland? Set in Belfast 1939, war has been announced. Children continue going to school and playing games in the street while everyone learns to cope with blackouts, sirens, gas masks and rations. The Port and Docks of Belfast 1850 – 2016 Imagined through Textiles This exhibition features four narrative panels designed and stitched by a range of participants from different communities and ethnic backgrounds living in Northern Ireland. The panels tell the story of life in and around the port and docks of Belfast focusing on a woman’s perspective. ‘Sailortown’ has changed over the years from when it was a vibrant working class community of mixed Protestant and Catholic families. The two wars changed women’s lives, and urban redevelopment in the 1960s resulted in Sailortown being demolished. Now a new Maritime area has and is still emerging. Date

Dawn Aston ‘Opus’ ‘Opus - a creative piece of work in any field of the arts. In mosaic art opus refers to the technique of positioning the tesserae. I have worked for many years on my own practice, specialising in mosaics, portraits, painting and drawing. This exhibition will be an eclectic mix of work, some old some new. The natural world inspires me and this interest led to qualifications and experience in horticulture and garden design. Raymond Henshaw My current work incorporates ink on paper, digital photography and screenprinting. For me these mediums are the most accessible, democratic and ubiquitous processes available. Using a stencil layering process, building layers of colour and shapes, my aim is to create an optical effect that the viewer will engage with, unscrambling the associations, tensions and separations implied in the works and their own realisation of it. Raymond has exhibited widely in Ireland and internationally, recent projects have included the curation of ‘Watershed’ featuring ten artists from Ireland and Hong Kong, and the setting up of Strule Print Workshop in Omagh.

Jill Hull ‘My landscape paintings are a response to the astonishing qualities of light and space brought about by being an island where the coast is never far away – always changing and always a source of enrichment, and with the ability to calm and to heal. A garden is by nature a more controlled environment, but, like paint, needs to be allowed to live its own life – surprising in its juxtaposition of colours, shapes and textures. I hope to convey the richness and significance of these ‘landscapes’ in a personal way but without sentimentality.’
