regardless of what they’re going through. I want to be able to help my family out, which is a big motivator for me personally.” The future is bright for both Alyssa McKay and the Rich Girl. “There are a few top-secret projects we are working on for the Rich Girl,” McKay notes.

“Stay tuned! I am also going on lots of auditions for both film and TV roles, and hoping to work on some amazing projects in the near future! My goal is to continue to work on my craft. I am down with any genre of acting, as I am always looking to try new things and expand my range. I cannot be more excited for what the future holds.” As McKay’s astronomical number of YouTube views, impressive amount of social media followers, and powerhouse presence in the industry continues to increase, she takes a moment to step back and reflect. “I would tell my younger self that things are going to get better and to keep hope,” McKay shares. “Growing up I struggled significantly with my mental health as the oldest of all my siblings. I felt like I was the glue keeping everything together and I could barely hold myself together. It gets better, as cliche as that sounds. To my future self...have we landed any major roles yet!?” Alyssa McKay represents the future of many things — she is a social media sensation, a YouTube showstopper, and an extraordinary content creator. In essence, Alyssa McKay represents the future of artistry. As a skilled actor and creator who made a name both for herself, and for the Rich Girl, the global phenomenon has situated herself in powerful position, pursing a powerful craft. “The power of acting is that you can bring an entire narrative to life and immerse the audience into a world other than their own for a bit,” McKay says. “The value of storytelling is the escape from reality it provides, as well as the lessons it teaches that we can incorporate into our real life.” Thus, the world now watches, eyes locked on Alyssa McKay — the YouTube hit, the Rich Girl, the star. “Acting makes me feel things like nothing else does,”

and support them in whatever they are going through. However, our approach to life and sense of humor varies immensely. Rhea has quite a practical approach to the things she faces, whereas my mechanism for dealing with obstacles is a little more chaotic and ‘go with the flow’, combined with an awful amount of anxiety.” Another commonality is their shared love for music. “[It] is kind of like my therapist in real life,” Avantika notes. “I listen to music no matter what mood I’m in—it helps balance out anything I’m feeling! I love listening to R&B, 80’s pop, and jazz.” In addition to inspiring young girls like her through onscreen representation, Avantika hopes that Spin will encourage audiences to, simply, follow their dreams. “I hope that viewers take away from Spin that youth is a time for experimentation. I hope that audiences, especially children, will understand that youth is not a time to put yourself and your potential in a box. Kids and young adults should be soaring for the sky and shooting for the stars. I wish that Spin inspires them to pursue their dreams— however wild and crazy they may seem.” As for her own dreams, Avantika says, “I would love to just continue a path of participating in meaningful projects with a diverse set of roles. Currently, I am working on the Netflix film Senior Year with Rebel Wilson. I have also recently optioned a New York Times bestselling novel to adapt into a movie franchise, so getting into the production side of the industry has been quite exciting for me as well.” She continues, sharing some parting wisdom, “Please don’t take criticism from anyone you wouldn’t take advice from. It can be hard to be a young adult growing up in this world dominated by social media, criticism, and public opinion. But at the end of the day, pay respect to the opinions of your loved ones—you can probably throw everything else out. It doesn’t matter unless you let it.”

Malina Moye By: Ashley Oken Malina Moye is an extraordinary person— and it’s not just because she’s the top female lefty guitarist in the world. A budding actress, humanitarian, and an acclaimed singer-songwriter she chooses to occupy multiple spaces in the entertainment field, always choosing to bring enthusiasm and a great mindset with her. All of this has led her to many notable accomplishments: Moye has served as an opening act both abroad and stateside for artists like Robin Thicke and the legendary rock group Journey. She honored the Queen of England with a rendition of “God Save The Queen” at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in celebration of the Queen’s 60th jubilee and has performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tribute concert for music pioneer Chuck Berry. She’s the first Black woman to make history by playing the National Anthem on an electric guitar at a professional sporting event at the Minnesota Vikings vs. Dallas Cowboys game. And she’s far from done with setting the industry ablaze. Hailing from Cleveland, OH, Moye burst onto the rock scene in 2014 and never looked back. Known for flipping a Stratocaster upside-down, she’s the first female guitarist to join the Experience Hendrix Tour, to whom she has been compared along with Eric Gales. Moye’s debut album, Diamonds and Guitars,

earned her critical acclaim and charted for six weeks. Her 2014 effort Rock & Roll Baby , which contains the single K-yotic featuring the funk legend Bootsy Collins which Billboard called “explosive” , blends a plethora of genres including neosoul, pop rock, and R&B.. Moye’s 2018 single Bad As I Wanna Be reached the top spot and charted for two weeks on Billboard’s blues chart. More recently, Moye is featured on Disney alum Bella Thorne’s new single Phantom which debuted at #1 on US’ Itunes Hip-Hop / Rap chart and landed on the Top 100 chart in over 10 countries. Moye fills a void in the entertainment world with her mix of rock and soul genres and philanthropy, cofounding the organization Drive Hope. The musician chatted with Rival LA Magazine to discuss her love of music, using art as a tool for empowerment, her humanitarian efforts, and more. You’re known for fusing rock and soul in your music. told me to never settle for what I don’t deserve, so I’m always reaching for the next step and never settling with what I have, even though I’m thankful for what I have. I’m also a big believer in manifestation. I always have a positive and powerful mindset on imagining and speaking everything into existence.” As one of the top names in content creation today, Zack Lugo represents what so many aspiring creators long to be. Indeed, Lugo embodies what can happen when someone with impeccable work ethic, unwavering determination, and undeniable talent starts posting content to TikTok. “Stay consistent and don’t give up,” Lugo advises to aspiring influencers. “Post as much as you can, there’s literally not a limit so take advantage. Just know that if you get it it’s because you deserve it, so work hard.” Looking forward, Lugo seems to have taken his own advice, as exciting things are in store for the young talent. “100% more clothes are coming soon,” he shares. “Also my Twitch streaming is something I’ve been working on recently. I’ve just signed with my first modeling agency as well, so I’m super excited to start doing some shoots.” The sky seems to be the limit for what Zack Lugo will achieve next. From being a social media powerhouse and iconic influencer, to being a fashion designer and model, Lugo represents the multi-faceted and multi-talented future of the industry. Moreover, if the last year is any indication of Lugo’s trajectory in the industry, only time will tell the phenomenal accomplishments that he will achieve next. Indeed, he may be a long way geographically from the rivers in southern Idaho, but at heart he’s still that same boy who dreamed about being a YouTuber. “I really want people to realize that I haven’t really changed other than me growing as a person,” Lugo says. “I still wear the grungy baggy skater clothes and I’m just a smalltown boy chasing my dreams and having fun while doing it.”

She continues to write and develop her own projects. . Tohn caught up with Rival Magazine LA and chatted with us about her career, how her love of music has shaped her, and the freedom in creating one’s own projects. You co-created and co-wrote all the music for “Do, Re, Mi”, the new animated preschool musical series on Amazon. You also star and executive produce with Kristin Bell! What was it like to work with one of your best friends on this show? JT: Working with KB is amazing. I don’t know how she has enough hours in the day to accomplish everything she does! Once she heard that our mission with the show was to “sneak-teach” music education to kids, she was in. She was monumentally instrumental in getting us meetings, keeping us on track with the mission of the show, and making sure the emotional lessons of the show were on point. Also, as you know, she sings like an angel so we were over the moon to have her voice Mi the bird. And it’s just so easy working with your friends because you have a shorthand and don’t have to beat around the bush to make a point. We just get each other , so that helped too! Music education tools are a great tool for teaching kids life lessons and are more important than ever in light of educational budget cuts. How have these shows shaped you and your love of music? JT: I was lucky enough to grow up in a house where music was being played constantly. My dad plays piano, guitar, and bass and was always in singing groups. He and I would sing songs at the piano mu entire childhood and still do to this day. I picked up the guitar in my teens and never put it down. Music education cartoons are so key for the many, many children who don’t have access to music and music education. I am so honored that children will be developing a love of music and learning musical lessons and from out show, Do, Re, Mi. It’s not a responsibility we took lightly. Given his impressive resume, wise perspectives, and sheer talent, it is clear that Matthew Sato is well on

his way to dominating the industry. Likewise, Sato is an excellent role model for anyone hoping to, like him, pursue their passions and make their dreams a reality. “I encourage anyone that is passionate about acting and the film industry to pursue it,” Sato advises. “Be prepared to work hard and don’t get discouraged. You will have to overcome numerous challenges along the way, and success will not happen overnight. It is important to stay positive, stay focused, and never give up. Remain humble and be grateful to everyone that you encounter on your path in life.” From Hawaii to the world of Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. and beyond, Matthew Sato’s talent shines bright. Summed up, Sato represents the industry’s next generation, with his acting prowess and perspectives as an artist leading the industry into a welcomed new era. Fittingly, Sato plans to continue to evolve in this new era, all the while leading by example and embodying what it means to be a star. In truth, this is only the beginning for the skilled Matthew Sato. “Whatever career you select in your life, a person should never stop trying to develop and improve their craft,” Sato says. “I strongly believe in this motto and I intend to continue to always learn from experience and constantly better myself as an actor and in the film industry. I believe the arts of acting, music, and storytelling are all gifts in life to us, and how we share these gifts with each other is where the power lies.”
