In 1996, Heather and her family relocated to Stuart, Florida. Growing up with both a younger and an older sister, she developed a deep-rooted passion for sports early in life. During her years in middle and high school, she engaged in ice hockey and baseball and participated in various athletic activities. Heather's leadership traits began to surface at Martin County High School, where she not only played softball and powderpuff flag football but also took up rowing Her proactive involvement in school activities saw her serving as the class vice president for two consecutive years.
Post-high school, Heather pursued higher education at Mercer University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Leadership and Service in 2005. Her college years were marked by active participation in the Baptist Collegiate Ministries and intramural sports, reflecting her commitment to community and leadership. One of Heather's most notable academic achievements was co-authoring a research publication in the Journal of Morphology, highlighting her scholarly capabilities. Tragedy struck just months
before her graduation when she lost her older sister in a car accident, a pivotal moment that profoundly influenced her personal and professional life.
Returning home post-graduation to be closer to her family, Heather initially worked as a substitute teacher in the local school system She also coached high school softball and was actively involved in local ministries, demonstrating her dedication to nurturing young talent and serving her community.
Her professional journey took a significant turn in 2010 when she began her career in a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), quickly advancing to managerial roles due to her leadership skills and a keen understanding of systems and processes. In 2013, she moved to Largo, Florida, to become the Director of Operations at a QSR. By 2014, she had been participating in an Interim Manager program, traveling across the United States to manage and open new restaurants. Heather's outstanding performance in this role led to her becoming
the Owner/Operator of a QSR in Clearwater, Florida, in 2016, a position she held with distinction until 2021.
Seeking new challenges, Heather transitioned into property investment and consulting alongside her partner Together, they founded a cabinet company specializing in design and Feather Lane Consulting LLC, which offers restaurant business consulting and property management services.
