Three generations of women said their vows while wearing the same wedding dress on their special day to keep the family tradition of long-lasting marriages, starting in 1958. by Angela Grotowski
“It was really special,” said Delgado whose mother, Lynn Mitterholzer, saw Delgado marry in the multi-generational dress. Delgado’s grandmother, Jane Beckdahl, purchased the dress at a store in her hometown of Mansfield, Ohio that she wore on her wedding in the April 1953. Beckdahl kept the dress stored in a closet in her home until Delgado’s mom wanted to wear it at her own wedding in late January 1981. “I feel pleased and very honored she continued the tradition I began,” said Mitterholzer. “I hope they have as many happy years of marriage as my mother and father enjoyed together.”
Mitterholzer had a similar moment to her father when she watched Delgado, the first of her three daughters, walk down the aisle in their shared dress. “It was breathtaking to see her in that dress and the little adjustments that she had made added a little of her own style that fit made it even more perfect,” said Mitterholzer. The dress required a few patches of lace and slight alterations to fit Delgado. The alterations process though took three months because of the delicate nature and old age of the dress. Delgado also wore a hand crafted veil that her grandmother created special for her mom. She said the dress was well worth the wait.
Mitterholzer said she remembers the moment her father saw her in the wedding dress her mother wore twenty-eight years before on her own wedding day.
“My mom got a little teary-eyed looking at it and said it looked the same that it did on her wedding day years ago,” said Delgado. “My only wish was my that my grandmother was still alive to be with me today.”
“It really pulled at my heartstrings, seeing the look on his face and knowing that I was wearing the wedding dress he married his wife in and I was their only daughter,” she said.
Delgado hopes the tradition will live on through her family with future generations of women. Nevertheless, this special dress will always have great memories for Delgado and her family.

Capturing this intimate experience is one of our favorite moments. The first time you lock eyes with your loved on your wedding day is a tender moment, which can be best captured in private for beautiful photographs you will have in your storybook forever. WHO, WHAT, WHERE
One of the most useful things you can do to help both your photographer and yourself is to create a timeline of the day. Communicating when and where the photos will take place and allowing plenty of time in the schedule can benefit your photographing experience. Obviously things can change on the day, but it is useful to have a running order in advance to keep things organized. A lessstressed bride is a happy bride and a happy bride makes for great wedding photos.
5
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
You want your hair and make-up to be perfect for a flawless look throughout the day, so make sure that you have a trial run first and that you are completely happy with the results. It can prove very useful to take a camera along to your trial too, as some foundations are highly reflective. Your make-up should last all day, so put it to the test ahead of your wedding; you don’t want to find out on the day that is has faded and you have not looked your bridal best. Ensure that your make-up is waterproof too, and make a point to pack some to take along for touching up on the big day.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
When choosing your wedding venue, think about the locations of where your wedding photography could take place. Consider both in and outdoor options, since you can’t always rely on the weather. Take into account lighting during the different times of day and ensure that your photographer visits the venue ahead of time to brainstorm creative and artistic ideas special Newlyweds enjoy the private lake of their venue at sunset

to you. We always carry our drone on us just in case the wedding location deserves a different perspective.
DELEGATION IS KEY
Stay stress-free and looking great in your pictures by getting help from others. Let someone else take care of things for you on your big day, whether it’s a coordinator, friend, or maid of honor. All questions and concerns should be directed to that specified person so you can remain calm and relaxed and only think about being beautiful and enjoying your day.
8
ENJOY YOUR DAY
A lot of people get stressed about all the little details remember to relax, you can have an amazing wedding day. Just remember, this day is about you and your partner, so whatever makes the two of you happy should be the focus of the day. The best photos are those of a happy bride and groom, so just relax and enjoy every second of your special day and you will have a bunch of amazing pictures to fill your album, share with your loved ones, and look back on for a lifetime.

IS VITAL
If you haven't realized, weddings require a lot of paper. Wedding guests require invitations and save-the-dates in order to help them plan attending your wedding long before the invite. Here is the full list for your stationery needs.
by Nancy Mattia Save-the-Date Card: Send these out if your wedding date needs special attention; if its a holiday weekend or at a destination. These shouldn't be formal like the wedding invitation — lots of couples include photos of themselves to give these cards some personality. Wedding Invitation: The basic stationery suite includes the main card, the reply card (or RSVP), and the self-addressed return envelopes. For the invitation, include the bride's and groom's names, the names of the hosts — normally the bride's parents, the wedding date, time, and location. You can list the reception details at the end of the invitation if you want to be economical, but the new trend is a customized package that includes all essential information, including reception cards, location or directional cards that normally come with a map, and
accommodation cards. Your special guests should also be recieving rehersal dinner cards to tell them where to be the night before the wedding. Reception Cards: This is where you give the details about the party. The when, where, and what to know. Accommodations Cards: List hotel options for out-of-town guests at three different price points, from low to high. If you've reserved a block of rooms, give the details here (price, dates, any booking codes). Directions Cards: Map apps have made sending directions cards nearly obsolete, but think about sending these cards if the wedding location is remote. Rehearsal Dinner Card: This can be informal, even playful with a theme. Or, you can include the
card about the rehearsal dinner along with the wedding invitations as a package, for those guests attending the rehearsal. Ceremony Program: At the wedding, guests will recieve a list of the readings and music in order to get a sense of the proceedings to come. Couples often also list the names of the officiant and each member of the bridal party and their relationship to the bride or groom. Thank You Card: One of the most important pieces of stationery is the thank you card! Plan to hand-write some personal thank you's to your guests for taking the time to celebrate with you on your special day. Guests deserve something more original than "Thanks for the gift." Keep track of gifts as you open them with your spouse to make sure you are personal and show your gratitude toward guests.

By Amanda Figuroa
Opt for Seasonal Favorites While almost everyone will enjoy a chocolate dessert any day of the year, there are some desserts that are best served during certain seasons. “We see lighter flavors like lemon and key lime in summer months,” explains Dina Silnicky of Catering by Seasons. “Spring and summer are all about citrus and stone fruit.” Dina recommends ice cream, sorbets and fruit bars for summer weddings too. For fall and winter months, Brenton says that their dessert menu features richer and heavier desserts with warm spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg. “Warm desserts like cobblers, crisps, pie, cookies and brownies or fall pies made with autumn fruits are on the menu during the cooler weather to warm up guests,” adds Dina.
Pass Desserts During Dancing If you expect your friends and family to spend the night on the dance floor, don’t let the party end by having them return to their seats for dessert. “Passing bite-sized desserts while your guests are on the dance floor keeps the party moving and is a fun and welcome surprise!” explains Glynis Keith of Catering By Seasons. Make sure that passed desserts are small enough to be eaten in one or two bites max, and are fingerfriendly so they don’t require any utensils. Some bite-sized desserts you may want to pass at your wedding include miniature versions of fruit pies, cheesecake, a variety of flavors of fruit tarts, mini brownies, doughnut holes, tiny cupcakes, colorful macaroons, and crispy cinnamon churro stick bites.

caterers across the country to find out what trendy dessert options they are serving up today.
Some fruit flavors couples may want to consider for their dessert menu include key lime, lemon with blackberry filling and strawberry. Toast with Dessert Cocktails You don’t have to limit signature drinks to just the cocktail hour and dinner. Pick a specialty cocktail or two to serve only during dessert. “We create cocktails that parallel the fare of the evening,” explains Gayle, “as well as the personal likes and dislikes of the couple.” You can go with classics such as a Grasshopper, White Russian, and Chocolate Espresso Martini, suggests Brenton. Or pick a cocktail that matches your wedding’s color palette or theme. You can also make specialty ice cubes by freezing fresh cut fruit with fruit juices or herbs. macaroons come in a rainbow of colors to create a beautiful and tasty display at your wedding
CAN'T CHOOSE JUST ONE DESSERT? OFFER A MEDLEY!
Pies In All Shapes and Flavors Some couples favor a slice of pie over cake for their wedding dessert, and all the caterers we interviewed shared that pies are very popular in all sorts of sizes and flavors. Pie options include micro pies, pie pops and a buffet of pies for guests to choose between five or six flavors. “Adding the option to add a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream is always a hit,” says Brenton. Ice Cream on the Go As guests mingle around the room have waiters pass mini ice cream cones. And couples are looking beyond the classic vanilla and chocolate flavors, like unique flavors, such as avocado ice cream with wasabi sprinkles. Another option is to serve frozen treats from an old-fashioned boardwalk ice cream cart.
New Flavors to Consider In addition to herb-infused dessert cocktails, Dina explains that herbs are now the go-to ingredients for a variety of desserts.“ Herbs such as Thai basil, lavender and verbena are now commonplace.” Alcohol and liquors are also enhancing dessert flavors in fillings, frostings and custards.” Flavors In Several Fruity Ways Pies, sorbets and fruity fillings are some of the fruit-flavored desserts being requested at weddings. “Blood orange and compressed fruits are popping up more and are really fun to play with in new ways,” explains Brenton. Fresh fruit can be a garnish to a richer dessert, such as crème anglaise and mixed berries or a slice of pie complemented with a seasonal fruit.
SPRING 2019
Serve a Medley at the Table If you can't decide on just one and want to offer more than one dessert, but want guests to be served at the reception table, then offer a dessert medley. “We're seeing more and more people adding a medley of other desserts to complement the cake,” says Brenton Schumacher of Pink Avocado Catering. A medley is where two different desserts are served, one to every other person, so couples seated together can get an even better expereince by trying both by eating from each other’s plate. Another version is to serve two small dessert portions on the same plate so each person, including those without a date, can try both delicious dessert items without having to share. This idea is perfect for couples who would prefer that their guests stay on the dance floor, the last hour of the reception can offer sweets served with waiters passing bite-sized desserts and after-dinner cocktails.
