Hints and Tips for your exam Read the Question carefully. Highlight/underline key words in question. Check the number of marks allocated for each Question. If you don't know the answer leave it and go back to it later. Never leave a blank space always have a go (especially multiple choice). Once finished read the WHOLE paper through again and check for mistakes spelling, punctuation and grammar are also important in a PE exam!

KEY WORDS HEALTH - is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. FITNESS - is the ability to meet the demands of your environment. EXERCISE - is a form of physical activity done primarily to improve one’s health and physical fitness. PERFORMANCE - is how well a task is completed. CARDIOVASCULAR FITNESS - the ability to exercise the entire body for long periods of time. MUSCULAR ENDURANCE - The ability to use the same muscle over a long period of time. MUSCULAR STRENGTH - The amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance FLEXIBILITY - the range of movement at a joint. BODY COMPOSITION - The percentage of fat, muscle and bone in the body. AGILITY - The ability to change direction quickly. BALANCE - The ability to retain the centre of mass above a base of support. CO-ORDINATION - The ability to use two or more body parts at the same time. POWER - The ability to perform strength at speed (Power = Strength x Speed). REACTION TIME - The time between the presentation of a stimulus and the onset of movement. SPEED - The ability to perform a movement or cover a distance in a period of time.
