iOS Application Survey Report By:Jasper Curtis
Introduction For my math class, I made a survey about people who use apps on their phone, specifically the iPhone. I asked what apps they use the most, what games they use the most, and other app related questions. 78 people completed my survey, which helped a lot with my data collection. I learned a lot about the people at Hebron Academy and their preferences. These pictures are screenshots of some of the questions that was on my survey. There is also a
chance that some people did the survey more than once.
Chart #1 This first chart I made is showing who does and who doesn’t have an iPhone. I thought that almost everyone had an iPhone, but a surprising 16 people don’t have an iPhone (I don’t have an iPhone, but I didn’t do my own survey.)
Chart #2 This second chart shows people who use apps that were automatically on their phone. This question was the easiest to answer because everyone calls and texts on their phone, and they don’t need to download on their phone, and they go into Settings to turn off data and connect to wifi and update their phones, and you also don’t need to download the Settings app onto your phone, so what I’m trying to say is, the 25% either don’t use the apps I named, and more, they are lying, or they misunderstood my question.
Chart #3 This chart shows how many apps the participants use normally. I believed that the most apps people use normally would be 2 or 3, which I was correct about, but I was surprised that some people used 6 or MORE apps. I was also surprised that people used only 1 app normally. The most apps that people used was tied between 3 and 4 apps, which was 23 for both of them.
Chart #4 This chart shows who and who don’t download apps and don’t use them. For example, you download Pokemon GO, but you never use it, you would be part of the 40.8% who did this survey. I thought that the majority of this answer would be no, which I was also correct about, but I didn’t know the 40.8 % of the people who did this survey download apps and not use them. That means those people have apps that only keep up storage space.
Chart #5 This chart shows who uses their phone a lot. I wasn’t surprised that the choice that was chosen the most was the “average amount” option. I also wasn’t surprised that the humorous people chose the “too much” choice. I was very surprised that some people chose the “not a lot” choice, when in our era everyone is on their phone all the time. The people who chose the “not a lot” and “once every hour” choice are rebellious and awesome if they are being truthful.
Conclusion I really enjoyed this math project. I enjoyed making my survey, getting 78 responses, making the graphs, and making this report. I learned a lot about the anonymous 78 people who did this survey, and their responses were very helpful and surprising. I really had fun with this project, and I can’t wait to do this again next year, and hopefully in the years after.
