Polygon World
Introduction In this project I will be informing you about the world of polygons. The world around us is filled with shapes, both manmade and in nature. I will be teaching you about what makes a polygon and the specifics of certain polygons. All of the polygons shown to the left are regular polygons. We have been researching all the different polygons and been learning about the different angles and vocabulary.

PARALLELOGRAM
OVERVIEW The parallelogram is a four sided shape (also known as a quadrilateral) with two pairs of parallel sides. They have two pairs of equal angles and sides. 5 FACTS ABOUT A PARALLELOGRAM ✴ The parallelogram is a quadrilateral ✴ All parallelograms have two pairs of parallel lines ✴ There are also two pairs of equal angles ✴ The sum of all four angles is 360º ✴ A parallelogram has four vertices

SQUARE
OVERVIEW A square is a quadrilateral with four equal sides and angles.
5 FACTS ABOUT A SQUARE ✴ A square is a quadrilateral ✴ There are 4 90º angles ✴ All sides are the same length ✴ There are four vertices on a square ✴ A square can be a rhombus

SCALENE TRIANGLE
OVERVIEW A scalene triangle is a triangle with no equal sides or angles.
5 FACTS ABOUT A SCALENE TRIANGLE ✴ Scalene triangles have no equal sides ✴ They also have no equal angles ✴ A scalene triangle has three sides ✴ A scalene triangle has three vertices ✴ All the angles add up to 180º
4
TRAPEZOID
Polygon World
OVERVIEW A trapezoid is a four sided shape with one pair of parallel sides.
5 FACTS ABOUT A TRAPEZOID ✴ A trapezoid has four sides ✴ A trapezoid has one pair of parallel lines ✴ All 4 angles equal 360º ✴ Four vertices ✴ The parallel sides of a trapezoid are called bases

DIAGONAL
OVERVIEW
A concave quadrilateral is a shape that has a diagonal that connects outside of the shape. Diagonals are lines that connect vertices that are not already connected.
5 FACTS ABOUT A CONCAVE QUADRILATERAL ✴ 1 diagonal connects outside the shape ✴ 4 sides ✴ Diagonal - A line segment joining any two vertices that are not already connected ✴ 4 different angles ✴ All 4 angles add up to 360º
