HONOREES
Philanthropists PIEN and HANS BOSCH
Artist BUNNY HOEST and the memory of Artist BILL HOEST
Pien and Hans Bosch believe philanthropy is an investment in their community and fortunately, for The Heckscher Museum, fine arts, architecture and design are among the Bosch’s most avid pursuits. Affiliated with the Museum since 1989, Hans actively served on the Board of Trustees for 13 years and was appointed a Trustee Emeriti in 2012. Pien was Co-Chair of the 2013 Celebrate Achievement Benefit, which raised more funds for the Museum than any other Benefit to date. The Museum greatly values the Bosch’s steadfast commitment to the arts and their continued support of The Hecksher Museum's programs, outreach, and role in the community.
Award-winning cartoonist Bill Hoest created The Lockhorns in 1968. Five years later, he married Bunny, and they co-created more cartoons including Agatha Crumm, Laugh Parade, and Howard Huge that appeared in national magazines and newspapers. Since Bill’s death in 1988, Bunny continues The Lockhorns with John Reiner. Leroy and Loretta Lockhorn enter the homes of more than 100 million people around the world each week. Syndicated by King Features, a unit of Hearst, The Lockhorns is translated daily into 12 languages, appearing in more than 500 newspapers worldwide.
