ABSTRACT This digest discusses the results of the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), conducted during the 1994-95 school year, in relation to teaching and suggests resources for further study. The digest includes a description of the study, data collection methods of the study, key results, and details of TIMSS-R, a repeat study conducted in 1999.
